So he picks me up at six in the evening. He's gone inside his room to change his clothes. When he comes out, he's swapped his dress shirt and suit with a black turtleneck and dinner jacket. The way his gaze rakes over my body that's hugged in a simple black form-fitting slip dress and three-inch glitter-gold heels makes my heart race as I descend the stairs and join him at the foyer.

"I love that color on you." He kisses my cheek with a hint of smile in his eyes. "You look incredible."
