With one of his hands, he lifted her chin. Priyanka could swear that her heart was going to explode inside of her rib cage. He stared deeply into her stunned eyes.

"I don't want to burn you, curly hair" He let go of her chin, gently. She was surprised he did. 

"Why?" She managed to ask. 

"There is no reason for that" Karan said. He went to the sofa and sat. She was not satisfied with his answer. 

"I'm not your type, now I get it" Priyanka tried to get his attention again. If that was the reason then, he was crazy. 

"Exactly dear. I'm glad that you figured it out at last" he zipped the bag beside him and brought out a laptop. Karan kept it on the table. "Why were you late today?"

"Really?" She was not surprised that he asked about it. On her way home, Priyanka had already assumed he was going to make a scene immediately after she got home. It was still a miracle that he did not ask her downstairs.
