I made quick work of the two bastards and dragged them all the way to the alley where the others were waiting. We tied them up and smacked their heads to make them faint first.

That worked out well. The two of them were sitting limply against the damp trees that had been repurposed into walls for the city, the empty city.

It was all honestly a fresh degree of surreal. Just how did a city that is completely empty come to be? And what were they planning to use it for?

I kicked the head of one of the folks we had captured. When that didn't work, I clicked my tongue and launched a spark on his eyelid. The spark burnt through the skin and dug deep into the iris of the man as a harrowing scream followed right after.
