As the Nightblade dropped to the ground, whatever was holding the two creatures that came from the growth back from his friends on the ground stopped and the two immediately went for the vulnerable prey that lay motionless on the floor.

Guessing that this was going to happen once the Nightblade died, Gus rapidly moved towards them, aiming for the space between the creatures and the people on the floor. He arrived within seconds, before they could even get close to their targets.

With two quick slashes through the bodies of the creatures, both of which resembled something like an oversized frog, Gus dispatched of them. Their blood spilled out of their bodies with each blow, and Gus noticed that it was very similar, if not exactly the same, as the liquid that the Nightblade had in its mouth.
