Chapitre 56: Unexpected turn of events-II

As the 10 heads fell on the ground with a deep thud, Aarv saw a gap in the enemy formation. In history, the Arrow formation was a powerful yet simple formation used by the people to overpower the core of the enemy formation. However, the Arrow formation had a clear weakness, which was the formation's tip.

As long as the tip of the Arrow formation stayed strong the formation will not break. But, if the tip broke, the momentum of the formation will be breached. Aarv knew it too well that's why he attacked Ulugh Khan who was at the tip of the arrow formation.

He knew that after he broke the formation, a gap will be formed between the Khilji army formation.

His prediction came true as Aarv looked ahead and saw a gap inside the formation.

"That's it…"

He smiled as he directly marched through the gap behind the tip of the formation.

while it seemed like an eternity for Aarv's army, only few moments had been passed since Aarv took the lead and attacked the Khilji army. But those few moments were crucial for all the Rajput warriors to collect themselves together.

Maharawal Ratan Simha who was at the back of the Makara formation took advantage of those few moments and quickly ordered 5,000 Rajput soldiers to go back towards the fort of chittod as he led the whole Rajput army and marched toward the Khilji army. He knew that it was a crucial moment, if they waste this opportunity, everything will be lost.

All Rajput warriors also understood that right now, their main objective was to defeat the enemy in front of them. If they lost this battle, it would be impossible for them to save anyone inside the fort. That's why they wanted to finish this battle as quickly as possible so that they could go back and defend their fort.

This created a miracle effect on the Rajput warriors as their will to defeat the enemy increased along with their power. Rajput infantry quickly surrounded the Khilji cavalry as they started to kill their enemy slice by slice. As they say, Stationary cavalry is worse than infantry. Rajput warriors took advantage of this exact method to kill the enemy Cavalry.

On the other hand, the Rajput cavalry led by Maharawal Ratan Simha pierced right through the gap created by Aarv's guard unit. Their main target was Alauddin's personal guard unit which was right behind the main Army.

Aarv too felt their presence as he marched through the enemy ranks. He knew why Maharawal Ratan Simha was leading his army towards the Khilji main camp. The king wanted to kill Alauddin Khilji himself. He wanted Alauddin Khilji to pay for what he did to the kingdom of Mevad.

Aarv respected Maharawal Ratan Simha's decision to kill Alauddin Khilji himself and because of that, when Aarv's personal army pierced through the Khilji army, he stopped. He waited for Maharawal Ratan Simha to arrive.

He did not have to wait for long as the sound of horses came from behind him. Within minutes the Rajput cavalry stopped right beside Aarv's 100-man unit. Maharaval Ratan Simha stopped his horse and looked toward Aarv questioningly. He wanted to know why Aarv stopped his army and did not attack the Khilji forces directly.

Aarv too noticed their questioning gaze and said, "It is the battle between Annadata and Allauddin Khilji… my soldiers will not meddle in personal grudges…"

The Rawal King looked at Aarv gratefully as he marched his Rajput army towards the personal guards of Allauddin Khilji.

At that time, instructor Vijay looked towards the marching army and said doubtfully, "We are not going to help them…?"

Aarv lshooked his head and said, "Don't look down on the Rajput army… in history, if Alauddin Khilji had not used treason to win against the kingdom of Mevad, he would have never been able to capture the Rajput territory…."

"But… there is still one thing we can do…" Aarv said as he looked at the left-wing of the Khilji army, specifically at the Slave general Malik Kafur. He knew that if he had to truly defeat the rest of the Khilji army, he had to kill Malik Kafur no matter what. He quickly gave orders to his guards and started marching towards the left flank of the Khilji army.

On the other hand, when Alauddin Khilji saw the Rajput army rushing over, He felt calm. Inside he knew that he just have to wait for a little more and the news of Chittod fort failing will be on his ears.

He sarcastically looked at Maharawal ratan Simha who was leading the Rajput army charge and said, "Struggle all you want… soon the Chittod fort will fall…"

"And Maharani Padmini too…" He smiled devilishly as he said the last words.

All the Rajput soldiers felt unease when they heard Alauddin Khilji talk about the fort of Chittod failing but Maharawal Ratan Simha's words made them relax. He said, "Do you think capturing the fort of Chittod is that easy…? Let me tell you, even if we 45,000 men are here we still have 18,000 tigresses at our home…"

Coincidentally, at the same time on the outer fort wall of Chittod, a female figure stood and looked at the Armies clashing before her. She took a Bhagva flag and raised it in the air.

She shouted with all her strength…

"JAI BHAVANI…"

And planted the Bhagwa flag on the outer city wall.

The battle in front of the fort stopped when they heard the roar and turned their attention towards the fort of Chittod and saw the Bhagva flag fluttering on the outer fort wall.

When the Rajput warriors saw the Bhagwa flag on the outer wall, they all screamed at top of their lungs as they attacked the enemy soldiers with twice the vigour.

While the Rajputs were happy, the same could not be said for Alauddin Khilji and his soldiers. Especially Alauddin Khilji as his face became very ugly. He knew what the Bhagva on the outer fort wall represented. It represented that their invaders have failed to capture the fort of Chittod.
