Chapitre 167: Chapter 166: Super-Skrulls (Part 2)

The atmosphere inside the lowest floor of the Vault Prison became tense after the hostage situation was still ongoing.
"Go ahead. Shoot them." Kai said unexpectedly.
"What the-" Jennifer Takeda who was watching the whole situation unfold in front of her became extremely stunned when Kai decided to ignore his own daughter's safety.
BANG!
Luke Cage's impostor let out a kill shot immediately to blow Galina's brain out and to make Kai realize they weren't playing around. However, in a fraction of a split second before the bullet even came out from the gun's muzzle, Kai moved instantly towards the impostor and covered the gun muzzle with his bare hand.
The plasma blast started to dig deep into his skin, almost penetrating his entire hand. "Ugh-!" Kai grimaced and stabbed his scalpel towards Luke Cage's impostor. He aimed at his heart, with precision to slash the artery vein of it.
CLANG!
"ARGHH!" The Super-Skrull that had copied Luke Cage's power thought that his body was impenetrable. However, his invulnerable skin only gave him a short period of safety before it was broken by Kai's Qi clad scalpel. The tip of the blade was stopped one millimeter away from his aorta.
Jennifer Takeda's emotion boiled up after seeing her best friend shot at.
'If Kai wasn't here. If He was too late. If…If only I could help.'
"Wait... I could help!" Jennifer said with gritted teeth. As her anger boiled up, poisonous radiations started to swirl on both of her hands. It glowed in an ominous yellow light with multiple specks of black. Her hand shivered as she couldn't contain the power any longer.
"K-Kai! DUCK!" Jennifer yelled as her power became critical. Then, she shot out a terrifying poisonous radiation that was even more dangerous than Chernobyl's entire radiation compressed.
"HEUK-?!" The Luke Cage impostor was shot by the poisonous radiation, slamming him backward onto Queen Veranka's position. He fell on top of the Queen, and his body showed multiple blisters from the radiation poisoning.
Even if he had managed to save himself from Kai's blade, he would die soon after as the radiation was corroding his body. Queen Veranka was terrified by this type of power and she quickly pushed the Skrull that was disguising as Luke Cage away.
"You!? Don't you care about your own daughter?!" Queen Veranka asked in astonishment.
"Dad! Save me!" Skye's impostor yelled fearfully.
"Do we really have to go on with this charade?" Kai asked coldly. Then, he used a flash step and appeared in front of Skye's impostor.
SLASH.
Kai cut off the head of his own daughter, separating it from the rest of her body.
"You see, I really hate it when people use my families in their schemes." He muttered coldly as Skye's head turned into that of a Skrull. Even the fallen Luke Cage turned back into a Skrull as he took his last breath.
Jessica Jones' impostor tried to attack Kai, but he kicked her in the knee, bending it to a place where it shouldn't have bent. Then, he placed one hand on her chin, another on the top of her head.
CRACKKK!
He twisted her head sideways, breaking her neck and killing her instantly. His eyes were cold and he walked towards the prisoners slowly. The pressure emanating from him had caused the escaping prisoners to be stopped in their tracks; their legs became too weak to run away.
"Why aren't you running anymore? Go on. Run." Kai muttered in a cold voice and smile.
"D-demon." One of the prisoners muttered softly.
"Go on. I am letting you run away. You won't get this type of opportunity again in your whole life." Kai said mockingly and reached at the front of the terrified Queen Veranka. The Queen was having second thoughts now about her taking over this world now.
The prisoners ran again. But instead of going away they simply ran toward their own cell and hurriedly locked the door. It was the only way they could feel safe from the demon.
Jennifer falls to her knees, and her vision becomes blurry. It was the first time she has ever tried to use her powers. Galina ran toward her, but Jennifer stopped her from getting near her.
"Don't come. My power is out of control. You'll die!"
"I- I will protect you from afar then." Galina said and picked up an energy gun from the ground. The gun had multiple security systems to avoid it from being used by the prisoners, but Galina managed to bypass the security in only 20 seconds.
Kai smiled softly while sensing the thing that was happening behind him. 'It seemed that they have become a true bestie now.' He was glad for the girls.
"What are you smiling about, you demon!" Queen Veranka almost pissed herself when she saw that Kai was smiling when he got to her spot.
"Do you want to crawl to the cell quietly, or do I need to break a few bones first?" Kai asked menacingly. Viper, who was in the frontal view of the whole thing, was extremely turned on by Kai's ruthlessness.
She no longer kept her emotions in control and her heart was beating wildly. That was when she realized that the bomb really had been defused by the Avengers.
The Queen of the Skrull shivered uncontrollably when Kai was reaching his hand out to grab her slowly. He grabbed her hand to pull her into the cell. But then…
"Arghhh!" A destructive sound shock wave had hit Kai in the back, slamming him into the wall. Unlike the first scream he had faced, the attack was 3 times more destructive and it was focused directly on his body.
The Iron Fist's impostor had woken up and made a sneak attack. His body was metallic gray, as he had done the ritual to mimic Carl Creel's superpower. He also had mimicked the supersonic screamed villain power.
The Super-Skrulls could use the powers even better than the humans. The last remaining Super-Skrulls summoned the Griffin wings that he had mimicked before this and picked Queen Veranka from the ground, into his arm. He flew right towards the stairs and ran away with the Queen before Kai could recollect himself.
He already did, but he actually allowed them to go away. After all, he was able to plant some Skrull specific tracer on the Queen's and the Iron Fist Skrull when he touched them before.
" I have done my job. Now it's your turn." Kai said telepathically.
"Okay. Also, a spaceship is coming over there. Bring the people from there to take cover." Ryan advised.
Kai approached Jennifer and Galina behind him. Jennifer couldn't hold on much longer. Her consciousness is now fading. Kai crouched next to her and pressed the transparent screen on her Hazmat suit. He read her vitals and her radiation level quickly.
"I have good news and bad news, which one do you want to hear first?" Kai asked.
"Bad news first doc." Jennifer said in a depressed tone.
"The bad news is, you can't use the Hazmat suit anymore." Kai muttered sadly.
"The good news?" Galina interjected quickly.
"The good news is…your radioactive power has disappeared." Kai smiled.
"What?" Jennifer couldn't believe her ears.
"It's temporary, but you can live as a normal girl for a few months without this suit even without the cure that I'm working on."
The more she used her powers, the more control she would be able to hone it. If she had been training to use it from the start, by now she could have lived her everyday life with the power in her total control even without using the Hazmat suit.
"Then why did you purposely make her feel bad as if you know that it's good for her!" Galina punched Kai on his shoulder for the out of sorts pranks. Jennifer was stunned for a while, and then she took off her Hazmat helmet.
She flashed a bright smile, and she hugged both Kai and Galina, the only people she had left in this world that didn't leave her alone even though she was a freak.
"Now, now. I still need to go and hunt them down. Both of you could stay in the panic room in my medical ward and wait for me to come back." Kai said and led the girls away from the broken floor.
He didn't forget to throw all the unconscious prisoners such as Carl Creel and the sonic screamer into the prison cell before he left.
Ophelia had been watching him the whole time, never turning her eyes for a second. "I'm sorry Kai. I don't want to do this." She muttered underneath her breath. Her fingers were sticky from a clear fluid after she took out her hand from her skirt, and she stabbed her fingers into her heart.
Five bleeding holes became connected to each other, and a snake's eye appeared on her chest. "I summon… the basilisk in exchange for the heart of my lover's lover."
The entire cell was shrouded into a cloud of black fog. The prison glass melted from the extreme poison and Viper disappeared quietly from the prison block without almost anyone noticing her. Luckily, there was a magicraft created spider drone that recorded the whole thing and sent it to Ryan.
He had been monitoring Ophelia both magically and normally after he knew she was the child of the Elder Demon, Set. "Run little snake. Run to your hole. I want to see where that is."
He always knew that Ophelia had an escape plan if she was thrown into a prison. It will be stupid for an ex-Hydra head to do what she did without an escape plans. "Maybe 2 months without the presence of the person that was hunting her made her feel more confident in breaking free."
However, Ryan failed to hear the sacrifice that she had made when she summoned the demon snake that could travel in the shadow realms. She didn't summon Set or anyone related to the Elder God as she is in her rebellious phases against being a sacrifice.
She would have to do a very specific task to pay what she owed the snake after she escaped from the prison cell. Like a snake, she will slither undetected for a while before she bit her prey and injected them with her venom.
At the upper floor of the prison, Tony was fighting a hard battle against the TaskMaster.
"Give up Stark. You're not my opponent." TaskMaster gloated as he avoided Tony's attack yet again!
"JARVIS?" Tony muttered underneath his helmet, waiting for the AI's response.
"Analysis at 75% sir. I don't recommend you go through with your plan."
"Sometimes you need to take a risk in life, JARVIS." Tony said and he changed his tactic from a long range attack to a short range combat.
"Really? You want to fight me using close combat?" TaskMaster snorted and blocked Tony's punch with his elbow. Then, he knee-kicked Tony's abdomen while holding his arm. He side-stepped to Tony's back and pulled Tony's arm, wanting to break it.
Tony's side repulsor activated, turning him 180 degrees instantly, saving his arm. He shot his repulsor on his restrained arm toward TaskMaster's mask, releasing the restrained. He punched at the TaskMaster, but the foe took out his sword and slashed at the Arc Reactor on his chest.
The slash destroyed the arc reactor mechanism, and a terrifying uni-beam shot out from his chest. The TaskMaster crossed his arm together and tanked the blast, sliding at the floor until he reached 70 meters away and had his back against the wall.
Tony staggered as his arc reactor's light started dimmed and turned off. He fell onto the ground and couldn't fight any longer.
TaskMaster ignored the burning red arm guard from the uni-beam and walked toward Tony slowly. The vibranium armor had saved him from losing his arms.
"Poor Tony Stark. A shrapnel inside his heart, and couldn't live without his battery." He mocked as he saw that Tony was struggling to stay alive and had retracted his helmet to gasp for air.
"Did you run out of ideas for a Stark suit? This one was no different than the suit you used during the New York War. Mark 7 was it?" TaskMaster held his sword on Tony's neck, wanting to end the genius's misery.
"HAA…HAA…How do you know about my…suit?" Tony asked while struggling to breathe.
"I know everything about you. About all of the Avengers." TaskMaster replied. He had studied every little detail about his future enemies and had made many battle plans against each and every one of them.
"Do you have any last word genius?...Well I guess with Ryan Knight around you're not really the genius anymore right?"
The TaskMaster's ego feeds on Stark's misery. "You…you guessed one thing wrong." Tony said with difficulty.
"Ohh, what is it?" TaskMaster played along with the last word of the dead man.
"This is the…Mark 8 armor." Tony announced and immediately, the arc reactor turned itself back on. The armor split from Tony's arm, and grabbed TaskMaster's hand. The split hand turned into a handcuff and the other part of the armor removed itself from Tony, leaving him in casual clothing.
The armor turned into a restraining device that held together the TaskMaster in his place. His legs, knees, waist, and even scrotum were restrained by the transforming Iron Suit.
Tony in a black clothing smirked and gloated. "You don't know everything about me. And especially not about all of us."
TaskMaster widened his eyes after seeing Tony's chest without the arc reactor. Tony had healed himself from his condition a long time ago. He was played by Tony to lower his guard from the start of the close combat battle!
Tony had trained together with Captain America and Kai after Ryan's insistence. He didn't only depend on his suit for fighting now, and could trust himself to survive without it.
"JARVIS, when will Mark 9 get here?" Tony asked using his earpiece.
"47 seconds sir." JARVIS replied.
Tony really did have confidence to survive without using his suit. But to not use his greatest invention was a great waste, right?
But, before the suit could arrive, a man with wings had come to the meeting spot with a woman that was in a Princess carry position.
"Ah damn it. JARVIS. Faster now." Tony said quickly. But, both parties had crashed onto one another's head as the man with the wings didn't realize that the one standing in front of him was Tony.
Tony was slammed into the wall, and lost consciousness for about 10 seconds. He snapped his eyes open afterward, but the man with wings and the woman has ran away from the prison, leaving the TaskMaster in Tony's restraints.
"JARVIS, What happened?" Tony held his hurting head and stood up slowly.
"Sir, the escapee has entered a spacecraft and it is heading outside of the Earth's atmosphere,"JARVIS replied.
"Contact Thor. Let him intercept the spacecraft." Tony ordered.
"Mister Odinson is still in New York, holding the Brooklyn bridge from falling down with the Hulk. The Brainsbots are fixing the bridge and it is estimated to be completed in 30 seconds."
"Damn it. Contact Ryan. Tell him about the aliens."
"I have already done it sir. While you're unconscious, protocol dictates me to contact the loveable Ryan Knight directly in any event above level 5 threat."
"Good- why is he the loveable one?" Tony was confused by the sudden nickname.
"It was what he programmed me to say when I mentioned his name in front of you sir." JARVIS replied innocently. Tony was stunned for a while, and then Kai appeared in front of him.
"Tony. Are you okay?" Kai asked.
"I'm fine. How many escapees are there?"
"None."
"We'll do a countrywide scan…wait did you say none?" Tony was in disbelief after hearing Kai's report.
"Yeah. None. The two that escaped were the one who had broken through the prison in the first place."
"How many invaders?"
"Six. Three died." Kai replied casually despite Tony's surprise. "And also, all of them were Skrulls."
"I don't know about this one though." Kai turned to the immobile taskmaster inside the restraint.
"You and I will have a long talk buddy." Kai said while flashing a demonic smile toward the TaskMaster.
A few seconds later, Captain America, Natasha Romanov, Peggy Carter and Maria Hill arrived at the prison at the same time Stark's Mark 9 armor was there.
"Kai. I need a full report on this." Steve said seriously.
"Sure. But let me heal myself first." Kai replied casually. Finally, Tony was able to realize that Kai's ear had some dried blood and there was a scorching black mark in his palm.
The agents went to investigate the prison after asking for Kai to take a rest. They found out about Madame Hydra's escape. After an interview with the girls, they were able to find out that she had escaped from this place after they left the floor.
The CCTV was broken, so they couldn't confirm the true situation. However, SHIELD trusted Kai's word even though his entanglement with the ex-Hydra head was suspicious.
Maria Hill stood silently at the Viper's melted cell. Her finger touched the small black book on her necklace. The grimoires that she had received from Marduk's temple had allowed her to study magic and she could sense the presence of a demon inside the cell.
"This is… troublesome.." Maria Hill muttered underneath her breath.

The short incident had caused a lot of collateral damages inside New York City and also at the prison.
"We need someplace safe to keep the prisoners. A place that won't be easy to break into." Tony said while reading the casualties report. Most of the casualties were the attackers, so he didn't care much about that.
But some citizens had lost their eyes, their limbs, and a minority even loses their life from the bombs.
"Sure. Add to my job will ya." Ryan said in dissatisfaction.
"Me and Banner will handle it. Trust us." Tony said with confidence. There were exactly a hundred ways he had listed to make the world a better place when he first entered the Avengers.
Now, he had taken out the idea no 42, to make a prison in an empty, alternate dimension.
Ryan had tracked the Super-Skrulls into their base of operations. There, the stealth spider captured the picture of the Skrull building an Iron-man armor.
"I see that they have read Tony's memories when he was out." Ryan muttered. He placed his leg on the desk and his arm to the back of his head, making him look relaxed.
"And now… we wait."
He was also monitoring the escapee Ex-Diretor, Nick Fury and Abigail Brand on tracking the Skrulls.
The Skrulls were working extremely hard to take over the Earth, however, all of their work was futile in the eyes of the Oracle.
Before the clean up for the Skrulls could happen, Ryan received a notification from ALBUS about a potential attack on Banner's house.
"Wait. Jennifer's Walters is there!" Ryan looked serious and urgently contacted his response team quickly.
However, before the Avengers could arrive, General Ross fired a destructive missile on the apartment.
Bruce saved his cousin, Jennifer Walters from the explosion. In doing so, a few drops of his blood had dripped toward Jen's wound. He didn't realize the blood had mixed together and he turned into the Hulk.
Hulk rushed outside, in which he was faced with more than 50 HulkBuster units, a robot designed by the military to subdue the Hulk.
