But predators can love too, and they do so with sincere devotion. Wolves bond for life, after all.

Hubert Raymund was not a wolf, of course, but he had a similar ferocity, predation, courage and strength. Piotr remembered what bishop Wacław had said about Adam, that he, because of his very sensitive heart, might need to be supported by someone strong. Hubert definitely had that strength in him.

"If you hurt him," the priest announced, "I'll forget that I'm wearing a collarette, I'll find you and kick your ass so that you won't be able to sit up for a month."

Raymund beamed suddenly, which surprised Piotr. Could it be that this guy really, completely seriously, wanted a relationship with Adam?

That might turn out... not so bad.

Homo or hetero, it really didn't matter. What mattered was whether two people who felt comfortable with each other, who felt the same warmth towards each other, would meet.
