She tried to use the water left in the bucket as a mirror to fix her messy hair. They didn't really have hairbrushes so she had to use her fingers. She got most of the tangles, but now her hair was frizzing. She decided to put half if it up and left the rest down. She could really make out her reflection well but it'll have to do. She had to admit she wished the skirt she wore a bit bigger too. It did come down to her feet though, so that was a plus. She wore her only pair of socks again today seeing as she didn't have any shoes. She couldn't really go anywhere either seeing she didn't have the strength to climb down the rope. She also couldn't reach the rope, but that was besides the point. She just had to sit there and wait for either Cyro or Alzie to come get her. She new this would get annoying really fast. She waited thirty minutes before she realized both the idiots forgot her.
She sat down once more and thought about what Cyro had said to her. She couldn't tell anyone how she ended up here, but he emphasized on not telling Alzie. From what she could tell Alzie was an okay guy, he after all did help her. Of course he was also the one who captured her too. She wondered if maybe she shouldn't trust Alzie completely. But swept it to the side. She really shouldn't be trusting any of them, but what choice did she have. She was in a foreign place with no idea how to get back home. Creatures she didn't even think could ever possibly exist. She only had herself and the idiots to help her navigate. And what she could tell from meeting the other two, was that the others most likely wouldn't be so kind to her. They still seemed quiet busy below perhaps they plan to come back for her later. She went back into the hut to find something to occupy herself with. There really wasn't much.
The books seemed to be made of leather and written in some sort of weird language. If they speak the same language, then why are the books in a different language? Giving up on the books she moved to the shelf with the tools and weapons. Among them was what looked like a small blade. She picked it up and examined it. It's handle, made of wood, had carvings etched in. The blade was made if stone. Looking at the spare hide, she wondered if she could make something. She really shouldn't touch it without permission. After all it's not hers to do with as she pleases. Sighing, she put the knife back and walked to the window once more. If she was back home she would be painting right about now.
"I see your not one easily entertained." The deep voice of Alzie interrupted her thoughts.
"No I am, I just don't have any of my things here." She just gave him a half smile and went back to looking out the window.
"I see. Well you may find somethings you'll like when we get to the tangerine tribe." She could hear him walk over to the table and start messing with the items they had gathered. "You don't like reading?"
"I can't read your language." She turned to face him. "We wrote differently than you."
He didn't look at her, but she could see he was thinking about something. She watched as he tied the pack to the hides then the bota bags to the pack as well.
"I may have Cyro teach you to read. He's an excellent teacher." He lifted the items off the table and started carrying them out the door. "He'll be up shortly."
"Wait!" She didn't know what she would say but she had to know. " What's yours and Cyros relationship?"
"Let's just say I'm his only friend. Why do you ask?"
"No reason, just curious." She couldn't tell him what Cyro had said. That would just cause problems.
He turned and walked out the door and down the rope. Leaving her alone in the hut again. Cyro had to have ment something with his warning. He wouldn't say that about his only friend, would he?
"He'll experiment on you." Cyro's voice sounded behind her making her jump.
"Oh my gosh, don't sneak up on me like that!" Her heart was pounding.
"If you tell him what you told me he'll want to experiment on you." He leaned against the door way looking down. "He already is planning to study you without permission."
"Oh." She was shocked. Would he really do that? Cyro was saying this about his only friend, and his chief. The amount of trouble he could get into would be devastating surely. "Then I guess it'll be our little secret." She smiled and pretended to be at ease.
She couldn't be at ease with any of them. Obviously, not even two days in, they are showing her just how untrustworthy they all were. Now she had to decided to either trust Cyro or trust Alzie. Cyro was an outsider and did protect her from feather head. However, he also objected to take her to the village. Alzie kept her from falling, and had Sklai treat her scratch. Though he did catch her and was the one who gave her the scratch. She looked up and found Cyro holding out his hand to her. She wasn't going to trust either just yet. Taking his hand, they both walked out of the hut. He picked her up in one arm and grabbed the rope with the other. His hand held her up by her bottom, while she held on around his neck. She swore he had smelled her at one point. Halfway down she looked up from his shoulder. They were far enough from the leaves that only a faint green glistened off of his scales. Making his yellow stripes look like a light pale green. The rest of his scales were light brown, and shimmered with a hint of green. How could something so scary be so pretty?
She noticed he was watching her and looked away. Her face heating up and turning bright red. It hurt whenever she would blush, she hated it. She looked up again to see if he was still looking and met with his beautiful orange, and yellow, eyes. He seemed to look at her, not with curiosity, but wonder. She felt his feet touch the ground and they pulled apart. Both looked at the ground and just stood waiting for the other to move.
"Cyro, you guys come over here." They both jumped and headed to Alzie. "You and Mira can sat back here close to me during the celebration."
Alzie pointed to what looked like a big chair decorated with leaves and feathers. In front of the chair was a giant bonfire about twenty feet from it. Tonight must really be a special night. She followed Cyro around all day as he help with food placement. He also made sure the leaves were laid on the tables, and that the hides were placed around the bonfire for seating. She did get thirsty and managed to wonder off to a table with refreshments. However, Cyro took the cup she grabbed and gave her a different one instead. She couldn't even get a drink without help. It annoyed her so much, she felt so helpless here. Surely there's something she can do without help. It wasn't long before night time came and the bonfire was lit. Alzie stood in front of his chair, while Cyro and her stood behind it in the back. A strange looking lizard also with feathers spoke too the fire and crowd. When he finished he placed a feather on Alzies horn. Soon everyone started placing feathers on his different horns. It was a strange and interesting sight to see. Then the woman she had seen before came up. Once everyone was done he sat down. With a raise of his hand, everyone began to feast. There was even fish to eat. She felt her stomach growl and her mouth water at the sight.
