Chapitre 31: Chapter Thirty One (interlude)
You cut communications and start rubbing your eyes. Initially you wanted to think things through but your friend Sam leans in and starts asking questions. "Who was that? More aliens?"
"Yes." You respond. "I asked him to keep an eye on things and make sure Frost does not hurt anyone." Taking a deep breath you look at Sam and ask him this. "Tell me... where is Frost now?"
"W-Washington."
"Then that's where I'm going." Reaching over the desk you pick back up your mask and put it on. "Go find someplace safe, where there aren't many buildings around. Like a park.
Because this could get ugly."
"And how are we supposed to watch the fight cyka?!"
"You aren't!" Turning over to your new friend you ask her this. "Sala. Keep an eye on them for me okay? And once we're done we'll go and have some proper earth food."
"Got it D. Happy hunting."
"Thanks."
As you walk to the door Sam looks over to Sala with a shocked expression. "A-Are you just gonna let him do this alone?! Erm... no offense Ms nice demon lady!"
She nods. "Of course. That's how D rolls. And you don't want to get in his way..."
"D?" Dominika asks her.
"Doomslayer."
The two humans look at each other and speak in unison. "That... ass..."
Stepping out of the front door you looked up at the sky and started gently levitating upwards until you were much, much higher than the tallest buildings. Instantly you sped up so much that you left several rings behind you upon starting. The resulting shockwave still hit the buildings below, causing some windows to shatter.
"WHOA!"
"HOLY SHIT!"
The two humans screamed while Sala just smiled. "Yeap. Now come with me little Earthlings. Let's do as the big guy says and find someplace safe."

Your name is Sam, last name not important.
And you're freaking the FUCK out right now!
First the entire population dies off and gets magically resurrected. Then it turns out that "Hey! Aliens and Gods are also real!" And after ALL of that your friend disappears for a few months then reappears and it turns out: He's a demigod now. How could this get even worse you may ask.
Easy. Have a space lizard show up one day, claim that he rules you now and that if he wants to he can just flick the planet and it explodes. And so far, it looks like he wasn't lying.
But then your friend Eric shows up once more looking like the fucking Devil himself and says it's going to be okay. Because he's about to kill this ungodly creature. What a fucking day!
Needless to say you're a nervous fucking wreck after all that, not helped by the fact that the nice lady Eric left you with is apparently a fuck mothering DEMON! This little factoid does not escape her however and she looks at you, which in turn makes you jump uncontrollably. "Relax. It's gonna be alright.
D got this."
She says as she leads you out the door.
"Y-Yeah right... Come on Domi. Let's get out of here. I need some fresh air!"
The three of you leave and head for a nearby park as apparently being near any buildings would be a bad idea. You don't know WHY it's a bad idea though and you're not sure you want to. "Huh. What are all these... green things?"
"Y-You mean plants?"
"Is this all... vegetation?" The pink lady looks around, carefully examining the grass, the flowers and the trees around you, oblivious to the events that are about to transpire.
Trying your best to act chill you attempt to speak to her. "So uh... demon huh? What's that like?"
"I don't know. What's it like being human?"
Oof. Well that... went about as well as you expected. "Eheh... you got me... Heheh-errr..."
Walking a bit closer to her in an effort to work through your fear of her you continue attempting to make small talk. "So uh... anyway what's up with you and Eric? How did you two meet?"
"I offered to take him out of hell. He politely refused but invited me to stay."
"Huh..."
"What?"
"N-Nothing. It's just that the guy I know would not be able to extend an invitation to a regular girl... much less a demon." In that moment you realized how that sounds and began profusely apologizing. "I'm sorry I didn't mean it-"
"Not sure we're talking about the same guy..."
She just ignored you. Roll with it! "I mean... he's the man with the most guts I've ever seen. Plus he's caring, kind and... all sorts of things I never thought I'd ever see."
"Oh I see! So you two, you know. Kacchow!"
*wink wink* *nudge nudge* "Wheeew."
She gives you an odd look. "Are you having a seizure?"
"N-No... You know." You form a hole with one hand and extend a finger on the other then put the two together.
"WHAT? No!"
"Oh shit! Really?! So... single huh?"
"No you im-" She takes a deep breath and exhales slowly. "Ugh! I thought Erics race were a bunch of monsters. I guess I was wrong and he's just a diamond in the rough.
How could your race produce someone that could kill the Demon King is beyond me..."
"I'm.... sorry, I didn't catch that. WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU JUST SAY?!"
"The Demon King. Ruler of Makai... The uh, underworld. The one under hell I mean.
He killed him."
"SO HE KILLED FUCKING SATAN?! IS THAT WHY HE LOOKS LIKE THAT?!" The pink and remarkably hot demon chick nods and you loose your shit.
As you get on your knees and scream "WHAT THE FUCK" at full volume Domi steps up to you and pats your shoulder. "Get it together you looser. It's not the end of the world..."
Just as she finishes that sentence a shockwave shakes the air and the ground, causing many windows to shatter in the neighboring buildings. People start flooding out onto the streets thinking it was an explosion. "Oh fuck me! It's the end of the world!" Dominika concludes.
"No..." The demon corrects her. "They just started."
You look up and see the fucking clouds in the sky growing darker and darker as the wind picks up all around you. It really does feel like Armageddon is knocking on your door right now. "Holy shit... Is that... Eric?!"
"And that Frost person." Her expression grows darker. "This is insane... There are people like this up here?"
"W-Why? Is he somehow stronger than Mega Satan?"
"Not yet..."
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YET?!"
But as you scramble to make ANY sense out of your current situation things go from bad to the fucking worst as the scared and very much agitated crowd around you becomes aware of your presence. In minutes you see a rather large congregation of people growing around you, all pointing hands at Erics new "friend":
"Look! It's an alien! It's with Frost! They are the ones responsible for this!"
Some of the more scared people reach for any sort of weapon they might have and start pointing them at the demon shouting things like "Kill it" or "This is for our planet". As the guns are getting cocked and ready to fire you realize that... you should probably do something about this before it gets ugly.
You try your best and attempt to delay the inevitable. "STOP!" You step up. "She's not the enemy!" You point up at the sky. "This... Is because of a man... fighting Frost! She's his friend. They came to save us! All of us from this tyranny!"
But the blood crazed mob does not listen to you. They are confused and afraid, understandably so. Not knowing what to do they try and lash out at anything or anyone they could blame. And unfortunately for you... it's this girl.
With mouth practically frothing they attempt to make a move, to attack her and you for seemingly allying with the aliens. You can not believe this. How... same everything is even though you swore that humanity as a whole would change. But... it seems you are just as bad as the day when the bombs fell.
Nothing more than...
"Animals." You mutter and jump in front of the girl, spreading your arms. You don't know why you did it. Perhaps it was just a compulsion or this strange mixture of rage and disappointment drove you to do it. But perhaps it doesn't matter.
One face in the crowd points a gun at you and they pull the trigger.
Closing your eyes you await the inevitable. Maybe... in the end you'll buy her enough time to get away. You can only hope.
But nothing happens. Slowly you open your eyes as curiosity gets the better of you and you see a hand clutched into a fist in front of you. It opens up and the bullet falls out of it, bent and broken, as if it hit a concrete wall.
The crowd watches this stunned before it quickly disperses as they slowly realize what just happened.
She caught the fucking bullet.
You look up and see the demon smile at you.
"Maybe I was wrong. You do have guts after all! Hey... what's your name?"
"S-Sam?"
"I'm Sala. Nice to meet you!"
