Chapter 279: Rescue me!

Emily's POV

I woke up to find myself on the bed and the man I stayed in that God awful chair to look after was gone…probably into the arms of Cassidy was another level of feelings I couldn't deal with, a cascade of emotions that I couldn't navigate.

I stood up and I went to the window, Cassie's voice echoing in my head.

"Emily, You are so wrapped up in your own drama that there is barely any space for any other person. God! You are so selfish. He spent countless nights sitting on the cold bathroom floor trying to keep perfect Emily away from his troubles…countless times sitting in the cold or hiding in the pool area, trying to be anything but perfect for you. And you couldn't even bother to notice something I noticed instantly! What kind of a wife are you!"

I blinked back tears.

Maybe she was right. I should have noticed.
