Owen POV 

My father and I talked for a long time as I drove on the lonely road. It suddenly occurred to me that I had no idea whatsoever where I was going or how I was going to find Emily.

I was only following the map to Zolcovia capital where the palace was located but after that, I had no plans anymore.

I really didn't think this through but who could blame me.

When it came to Emily, I was hardly sane and somehow, that was okay. It was okay to be irrational about the girl I love but I still needed a plan desperately.

I couldn't exactly waltz into the palace and demand for their crown prince's intended bride and hope like hell that Emily would be handed over to me... because that would be insanity amplified.

I knew it wasn't going to be that easy but I really wished it was, she was mine to begin with but life wasn't a bed of roses or maybe it was, roses have thorns in them, yes?
