"I said that you should aim for the top spot." Leric chuckled when he saw her confused look. 

"Sir Aethelwolf, the top contender for the competition is a peak Level 1 Esper and there are even a few late Level 1 Espers. Even if I somehow win against all the mid Level 1 Espers, how can I defeat those guys? After all, I'm only a mid Level 1 Esper." Janrose shook her head bitterly. Aethelwolf thought too highly of her. 

"I have a way to make you stronger." Leric words made Janrose look at him in surprise, but after she regained her composure, she asked him skeptically. "How?" 

With a grin, he answered. "I am a Level 4 Alchemist. What do you think I can offer you?" 

As soon as she heard that, her eyes widened as she muttered. "Pills..."
