Chapitre 47: Sorrowful Realization
Dan Oh continues to run fastly without looking back and ignores Baek Kyung who keeps calling out to her. She pushed her way through the hustle and bustle of Seoul that morning regardless of how many people she nearly ran into.
A few moments later she finally arrived at a park which became the last place she appeared after disappearing. Dan Oh burst into the garden and check out the grass that filled the ground around the big, shady tree. The girl crouched down and searched for her cellphone among the tall grass without noticing her erratic breathing. Dan Oh crouched around the big tree and brushed all the grass around it. Not long after that Kyung also arrived at the park. For a moment he stopped his footsteps and stared at Dan Oh in silence. He didn't understand why she had been acting weird ever since she came back.
"Eun Dan Oh...." Kyung called in a soft voice and walked closer to his girlfriend. The girl did not answer and persisted in continuing her activities. Kyung approached Dan Oh and crouched down in front of his girilfriend while holding the girl's hands to stop her activities. Dan Oh turned to the man and looked at her boyfriend sadly.
"No Kyung, it's not here..." Dan Oh said softly and started to crying again. Kyung grabs Dan Oh's body and holds her in a warm embrace to comfort his girlfriend. Dan Oh just returned Kyung's hug and burst all her tears on the man's chest.
After Dan Oh finished crying, the two of them sat side by side while leaning their bodies against the big tree behind them. Kyung occasionally stroked his lover's hair lovingly. He really missed her presence by his side.
"Kyung-ah, if I tell you something that doesn't make any sense, will you believe me?" Dan Oh asked while leaning her head on Kyung's shoulder while enjoying the touch of affection from the man she had always loved for a long time.
"Sure.... What do you want to tell me?" asked the tall student with a great concern. Dan Oh took a deep breath before speaking again.
"When I disappeared .... Actually I was trapped in another dimension, on a planet from a different dimension world apart from ours," said Dan Oh, starting the story. Kyung was just silent and tried to digest his little girlfriend's words.
"In that place I met a strange and disgusting monster. I had to fight against them. But there I also met some good friends, we fought together against the monster. It turned out that I was a descendant of one of the royal families on the planet," continued Dan Oh on telling the story.
Baek Kyung immediately straightened up then looked at Dan Oh so closely that the girl could no longer lean on his shoulder.
"Are you okay?" Kyung asked worriedly. Dan Oh looked at the man with a sad expression, it seems that Kyung didn't believe the story and thought that something was wrong and going on in the girl's mind.
"You can't trust me can you?" asked Dan Oh sadly. Kyung immediately shook his head.
"No... That's not it.... You said you met strange monsters and fought them, are you okay? They didn't hurt you right?" Kyung asked in such a gentle tone. Even though what his girlfriend said was unreasonable, the student chose to believe it.
"I... I'm fine... It's just that I... I left someone who was seriously injured, I really want to know how he is now. At least I want to make sure that he's okay. But I don't know how. ....." the girl looked sad and lowered her head limply.
"How did you get to that place?" Kyung asked curiously. Dan Oh lifted her head and rolled her eyes, trying to think of something.
"I'm not sure... At that time I found a unique crystal here. Just when I disappeared, I think that crystal brought me there. But the crystal was destroyed now" explained Dan Oh while remembering all the events on the planet Mirac and her travel over the time and dimension.
"When you disappeared? Was the crystal the only link between our world and that dimension?" Kyung asked continously.
"I don't know Kyung..." Dan Oh shook her head desperately.
"What about the supermoon? Does that have anything to do with that?" Kyung tries hardly to think of all the possibilities that might happened and wants to help Dan Oh so that the cheerful girl is no longer being so sad.
"I don't know.... Do you think so?" asked Dan Oh again.
"I don't know either... But why don't we try it first. Let's wait for the supermoon and see if we can find a way to go to that dimension, I want to see it too..." said Kyung with a warm smile. He wants to do everything that can make his girlfriend feel happy and forget her sadness. Kyung is not happy to see the tears of sadness flooding on his lover's beautiful face. Dan Oh nodded and smiled happily listening to his lover's words. She's glad that Kyung can understanding her.
"Wait a minute" Kyung took out his cellphone from his uniform pocket and tried to find information about the occurrence of the supermoon.
"This year the supermoon will occur for five times, the next supermoon will occur on June 14, in two months..." said Kyung conveying the information he got via the internet to Dan Oh.
"When that night comes, let's come here again to see it," said Kyung, smiling and holding Dan Oh's hand tightly. The girl nodded excitedly while returning Kyung's smile with a twinkle on her face.
"Thank you very much Kyung-ah...." Dan Oh said softly to her boyfriend. Kyung's smile is widened, he stroked Dan Oh's hair lovingly again.
2 months later.
As they planned, on June 14, Dan Oh and Kyung returned to a mysterious park near their residential complex. As soon as the sun went down they had arrived at the garden. The two of them stood side by side facing the big tree in front of them. Dan Oh seems excited and happy about it.
"What would you do if we could go to that place?" Kyung asked curiously and was amazed when he saw the expression on Dan Oh's face that was full of enthusiasm.
"I just want to find out about someone's condition..." the girl answered, looking into Kyung's eyes with her innocent expression.
"Who? a man?" asked Kyung who pretended to show his suspicion.
"He is... just a friend....." Dan Oh replied a little unsure of how to explain her relationship with Woon, they were friends right? Just a friend? Dan Oh's gaze seemed a little dreamy. Kyung feels calm with the answer given by the girl, whoever Dan Oh is worried about, she only thinks of that person as a friend. Or at least that was what he wanted to convince his heart about. Kyung feels that he still has a safe place in Dan Oh's heart. He had always been the only man in her heart for ten years, things wouldn't just change so easily right?
It wasn't long then before the moon in the sky began to shine brighter. Dan Oh and Kyung looked at the moon enthusiastically and then turned their eyes to the big tree in front of them. Nothing happened to the tree, but Dan Oh still didn't want to give up so easily. Her belief was so strong that she would definitely be able to see Woon again and return to the dimension where the planet Mirac was. That night's supermoon lasted for about half an hour, then returned to normal when the moon was no longer at its closest point to Earth.
"Dan Oh-ah... the supermoon is over, nothing happened...." Kyung said to Dan Oh.
"Wait a minute ... just a minute ... I want to wait a little longer" said Dan Oh in response while still focusing her eyes on the tree. Kyung just sighed but couldn't do anything.
The night was getting late, the clock had shown twelve o'clock at night. Dan Oh and Kyung are still in the same place. It's been two hours since the supermoon finished but nothing has changed there. Kyung crouched in his place while occasionally yawning because he was tired and sleepiness began to overtake him. While Dan Oh squatted beside him while continuing to look straight at the tree in front of them.
"Eun Dan Oh.... it's already midnight" Kyung said to the girl. Dan Oh just kept quiet and didn't answer him. The little girl then stood up from her place and walked slowly towards the tree. She stood right under the tree and touched the large log with her right hand. Seeing Dan Oh stand up, Kyung also got up from his place and stood in the same place while observing the back of Dan Oh.
"Woon-ah...." Dan Oh said quietly. Kyung can clearly hear Dan Oh's voice even though the girl is speaking in a low voice. It was the second time he had heard Dan Oh call out the name of a man he didn't even know.
"Are you okay?" Dan Oh was talking to herself while staring sadly at the tree she was holding. Her vision began to blur, her eyes began to tear up.
"You're still alive, aren't you, Woon? Em?" this time Dan Oh couldn't hold back her tears anymore. Her cry broke out. Imagining the bad things had happened to the prince made her heart feel so broken.
From behind the girl's back, Kyung begins to notice that the girl's body is starting to shaking. He realized that Dan Oh had been crying by then. Kyung stares at Dan Oh's back with a sad expression mixed with confusion.
"Woon-ah... I... really... miss you..." Dan Oh said then. The girl leaned her head against the tree trunk in front of her and used her forehead as a support. She no longer remembers that Kyung is still around. F
From behind Dan Oh's back, Kyung stares at her silently. He couldn't believe what he just heard from the girl's mouth. Kyung felt a very hard thing smack into his heart. He looked at Dan Oh with a sad and lost eyes. The man then lowered his head and took a deep breath. He was able to feel that he was no longer the only man in the heart of the girl in front of him. Kyung gently rubbed his face without saying anything.
