Chapitre 26: End of the first day of training
Officer Jack Dean did not say anything to Zeph when he entered the observation room and just kept chugging the can of Boom Boom Energy limited edition Pepper Melon that Sareea gave him on the house saving Zeph a few credits.
He had been around long enough to know when someone just got an ass chewing by a captain or sergeant. Unless Zeph spoke about it, he was just going to pretend that he did not know that the word IA was probably mentioned a few times.
Sitting with his head down Zeph thought about what he did briefly, before turning his thoughts towards his Valkyrie Protocol interface that was in some way connected to the Godnet of heaven.

For a second Zeph contemplated V-mailing, or would it technically be A-mailing Siael to complain how stingy the VP was being with the rewards for his current main task. They seemed so low compared to what he had to do to earn them. But he realized that those rewards were probably based off what his originally planned training was supposed to be, and that he would probably receive additional rewards.
"You ever have to deal with Inspector Hardtack, Officer Dean?"
"Once, I may have already been a corporal if I had not had to spill the beans on one of the higher ups that was part of my promotion board. He his as hard as a nail on the rules. His name is very fitting in that regard. He is not unfair in his assessments, so just be honest and quote him regulations cadet."
"Should I be worried about getting kicked out of the academy?"
"No, Central would never allow it. At least I think so. I will not say what I think is going to happen if your actions are investigated. You got thrown into a situation that was beyond what could be ever considered normal for someone that just got sworn in as a recruit. You want the other can she gave us?"
"All your Jack. You going to try to hook up with her later?"
" Want to but want to make sure that it is within regulations for me to associate with her in a relationship of any capacity other than passing acquaintance. She is an 8th blood Neph if you could not tell by her umm."
"Yeah, if you have any issues with that, just remember badge or not I am a Level One Administrator."
Through the observation room's monitors they could tell that their break time was almost at an end as the unlock code was just punched into the panel by the door alerting them that the door would be opening in a few seconds.
*Whoosh*
The door of the observation room opened with a soft whoosh of air being exchanged between the sealed room and the hallway. Turning their heads towards the door the two men could see the less than cheerful Captain Halt and XO.
"By the books you two, I already got dragged off the nice couch in my ready room by the good captain that is concerned about internal affairs looking into why a day one recruit used an SLP on suspects repeatedly or was even in a position to do so."
"Yes, Sir."
"By the book it is Commissioner, Commissioner Justin Vaughn"

Zeph was out the door before the Xo, could say another word. He knew what Commissioner Vaughn meant by, by the book and that the former knew what he meant when using his full name.
"I think that I actually feel sorry for the suspect for once?"
"Why commission you told him by the book, and I will be in there with him to make sure that he sticks to it."
"Cadet Demonbane could probably quote Standards for Patrol and Interrogation of Suspects word for word Officer Dean, and I know that he knows what I meant by saying to do it by the book. But he said something to me without actually saying it by using my full name. That the Damn Book says whatever he does IS by the book."
"Black Badge."
"Yes, Black Badge Officer Dean. This is going to be the shortest Interrogation in your career, one way or another."
"What about IA?"
"It might be a good show too."
Officer Dean was just thirty seconds behind Zeph when it came to entering Interrogation room N, but Barry was already covered in cold sweat and singing like a little canary.

"What do you do to the suspect in the thirty seconds that it took me to get in here to cause him to sweat so much I can hear it hitting the metal table?"
"Nothing, Officer Dean. All I did was introduce myself as Cadet Demonbane Black Badge Neph Enforcement. After that he started telling me answers to questions I haven't even asked yet."
**Over Coms**
"Proceed with questioning the suspect Officer Dean and Cadet Demonbane. We are closely monitoring his vitals and will send alerts to your chips if they exceed safety parameters."
"Care to explain where you got the pink and blue Mod, and if it has anything to do with that bulb we found a matchbook for?"
"I got them off some guys that are regulars at the store, they said that they would help me get a girl like Sareea. Even said that those pills were from a legit pharmaceutical company and legal for the most part."
"You need a prescription for them, and they are only slightly less dangerous than White that you said you took while in college."
"I never said that?"
"You did. Should I play the recorded audio of holding cell six, or are you going to admit to it. The limitations on charges for those would place the alleged timeframe outside of what would be necessary to change you with usage as you do not have clear evidence of having permanent genetic altering from Mod White use."
"Yeah, I took Brain Blast back in the day, everyone did. Think that even some of the professors were selling it Junter's mother's death hit me hard and I have been chasing after certain types of girls ever since."
"I only wanted to ask you a few questions about your son and tell you off on his behalf, so why did you immediately try to run when I said that I had a few questions for you"
"Panicked when I noticed the color of your badge. I thought that I was going to find out why everyone is terrified of Black Badge NEO's even though they have never seen one before. Most people think that it is just something made up to scare them into behaving. Like the boogie man or crib snatcher. I will confess to the possession charges for the pills that you found on me. No use in trying to hide it from an administrator with a badge."

"That is enough, we will have CCO Si take him back to holding. Dean you go write up the reports. Cadet Demonbane go find an empty desk in the bullpen and write a detailed report on your experience with foot patrolling and reference the Code Book to include a list of what charges you suspected the four you brought in of being guilty of. Other than that, if anyone conducts an interrogation until your training day is up, you are to quietly observe from the appropriate observation room. You can include an observations you make in that report."
"Yes Sir."
A few hours later Zeph almost cried when he heard the notification.

Additional rewards : Los Diablos Nephilim Enforcement Criminal Offense Codes will be installed and processed during next sleep cycle. All stats below 20 will also be upgraded to 20 during sleep cycle.
Caution is advised when adjusting to new status level upon waking.
