Chapitre 4: Chapter 2: Ema's sleep deprived older brother
By the time Haruame woke up, dinner was done. Haruame checked the time and found that he only slept for 10 minutes. He was still quite tired but he was also hungry. So after weighing the pros and cons in his mind, He decided to eat then sleep. They were having pasta for dinner, Haruame didn't mind pasta. He didn't really have a favorite food, He would eat whatever was put in front of him without complaint.
He saw the others had started eating so he too began eating in silence, The dinner table was quite loud but Haruame still had his earbuds in so he was listening to music and wasn't paying much attention to the others. Once Haruame finished eating, he wiped his mouth and silently excuse himself before he paused and remembered that he didn't which room was his.
He turned back around and asked Masaomi which room he should sleep in, The couch was also fine. However, Masaomi seemed adamant about him not sleeping on the couch. He told Haruame that there was a guest room he could use, then decided that he would take there himself even though Haruame said that there was no need for that.
Masaomi was very persistent so Haruame had no choice but to agree. He grabbed his luggage and headed up the stairs with Masaomi, Leaving the others at the dining table.
Masaomi and Haruame arrived at the guest room that was all the way at the end of the hallway. Masaomi explained that 7 of the brothers lived, Him, Ukyo, Kaname, Hikaru, Natsume {Though, Natsume doesn't use his room since he moved into his own apartment}
Azusa, Tsubaki and Ema lived on the 4th floor While the other 6 lived on the 3rd floor, Louis, Subaru, Iori, Wataru, Fuuto, and Yuusuke.
Haruame's room was right next to Ema's, Which Haruame was slightly grateful for. Haruame opened the door and saw a very clean and dust free room awaiting him.
Haruame thanked Masaomi again for letting him stay here at the last minute. Masaomi told him that it was fine and that it was no trouble. Haruame smiled before he said goodnight to Masaomi, who waved and said goodnight back.
After closing the door, Haruame slid to the ground and let out a shaky sigh. That was close, I was so close to blurting out something awkward. I don't know if I can survive more than a month here. I really am a face-con, Julia was right. At least so far, none of the brothers have been my type. But that doesn't stop them from being hot. My face feels like it's burning. Hahh, Ok pull yourself together Haru. I have to do some work before I go to bed, I still have that one project to finish for Julia So I better do that now to take my mind off everything else.
Haruame determinedly stood up and took out his laptop and some research books that pertained to the project he was doing. His friend Julia is a vet a animal clinic that helps stray or abandoned animals but they aren't getting enough publicity as people don't take them seriously since they are just a small clinic. So Julia begged Haruame to write and article about their clinic and the work they do.
Since Julia was one of the very few friends that stood by his side when he told her about his sexuality, He decided to do her this favor. He also thought that the clinic should get more publicity than it has. They were doing good work, Haruame has seen it.
So Haruame began working and researching all night long. He hadn't even realized the sun had risen until he heard a knock on the door. Haruame snapped out of his daze and was very confused, He looked down at what he was doing and saw that he was still working on the project. He slipped his glasses on and checked the time on his phone.
It said 11:34 am, Heh, I stayed up all night again. Hahahahaha, I'm gonna collapse soon if I keep doing this. Why do I always forget the time when I get focused on my work.
While Haruame was close to having a mental breakdown from being sleep deprived, Someone knocked on his door again. Haruame turned his attention to the door and got up, his legs felt like jelly and the lights hurt his eyes but he still made it to the door and slowly opened it. The lights made his eyes hurt even more, he squinted his eyes and tried to make his gaze focus on the person in front of the door.
" Haruame, Good morning. I was getting kinda worried since you weren't coming down for breakfast. I guess you're a heavy sleeper, You mustn't be a morning person Huh? " Masaomi chuckled lightly when he heard Haruame mumble something under his breath. He didn't catch what he said so he moved closer and asked Haruame to repeat himself.
" I didn't sleep last night, I was up all night working and I lost track of time. By the time I realized it, It was 11:34. My body must hate me for always doing this, Heheheh " Haruame was severely sleep-deprived and started giggling creepily to himself.
" I see, Well would you like to join us for breakfast? Maybe eating something will help " Masaomi was quite concerned, If Haruame didn't sleep last night then he was awake for about 19 hours. That worried Masaomi but he knew that eating was also important.
Haruame nodded his head to breakfast but continued to mumble and giggle to himself, He also could barely walk right so Masaomi helped him and made sure that he didn't bump into anything or fall down the stairs. He helped him down the hallway and into the dining room. He helped Haruame sit down in his seat and served him some food, ignoring the glances his brothers were giving him.
" Um . . . Is Haru Nii-chan alright? " Wataru asked seeing the swaying young man, " *Sigh* He will be. He said that he didn't sleep at all last night because he was working. He told me that he was too focused and lost track of time, thus resulting in this. " Masaomi explained to the few brothers still sitting at the dining table. Some of the brothers had already headed to work, or school. The only ones that were left were Wataru, Masaomi, Ukyo and Kaname. Wataru usually woke up late and his school started later than the others, Masaomi was the one who usually drove to school on his way to work.
" He didn't sleep? But he got here around 5, He fell asleep for about 10 minutes at 6 or 7, So he hasn't slept properly for 19 hours? How is his body still about to function properly? " Ukyo slightly gasped as he watched the tired young man almost fall asleep with his face in a bowl of rice.
" I think he might be used to staying up like this. He said that his body must hate him for always doing this. So I don't think this is the first time this has happened " Masaomi said as he lightly shook Haruame awake just before his face hit the rice.
" Thats not very healthy for his body, What was his working on that made him so focused? Has he even told us what his job is? " Ukyo inquired as the brothers thought back to their conversations with Haruame, " I don't think he did " Kaname answered as he looked over at Haruame, who was trying to eat his spoon.
" Hey, Haru Nii-chan, What's your job? " Wataru asked as he was about to finish his cereal.
Haruame mumbled to himself but the others couldn't hear him so they asked if he could repeat that a little bit louder.
" Freelance writer . . . Heheheh. . . I was working on a project for Julia . . . . She wouldn't leave me alone if I didn't write the article . . . . Its her fault I always lack sleep . . . . Heheheh . . . . " Haruame chuckled to himself creepily as he stabbed his toast with his butter knife.
Masaomi carefully took the knife away Haruame, just in case. Haruame kept mumbling to himself as he ate. The brothers were a tad bit creeped out but kept that to themselves.
After they were finished eating, Masaomi helped Haruame to the couch and told him to rest a bit. Masaomi then had to drive Wataru to school and then go to work. He said to tell Ukyo if he needed anything since Ukyo didn't have any work to do at the moment. Kaname soon left too.
Only Ukyo and Haruame were left in the house, And Juli {A/N: I totally forgot about Juli! Sorry!!} who was sleeping in Ema's room. Haruame was lying on his side on the couch while Ukyo was washing the dishes.
" Haruame-san, Is there something I can get you that will help? Would you like some pain killers? You look like you're in pain " Ukyo inquired as he crouched down in front of Haruame.
" Coffee would be great . . . hehehehehe " Haruame giggled, mostly to himself but Ukyo heard it. He smiled and stood up, He rubbed the younger males head and headed back to the kitchen. However, he paused when he got to the coffee machine, He forgot to ask what type of coffee.
" Just black coffee . . . . Ehehehehe " Haruame giggled darkly as he suddenly appeared behind Ukyo, Who quietly jumped out fear. He looked behind him and saw Haruame giggling and mumbling to himself as he leaned his head against the wall. Ukyo sighed and started the coffee machine after making sure the settings were alright for Haruame.
He then brought Haruame back to the couch and told him to rest until the coffee was done.
After a while, The coffee was finally done and Ukyo put down his book to go get a cup for Haruame. However, When he walked over to Haruame, He saw that Haruame had fallen asleep sometime earlier. Ukyo sighed and set the coffee down on the coffee table in front of the couch for him when he woke up.
Ukyo then went back to reading his book when he heard the elevator ding and heard footsteps upstairs. He looked up and saw Louis, " Louis, Were there not very many customers today? Its unusual that you're back so early, " Ukyo commented as he set his book down for the second time today.
" Yeah, It was just regulars coming in for some trimmings. We have plenty of staff so I was given the day off. Masaomi told me yesterday about our new brother so I decided to come home and see him " Louis smiled as he looked at Haruame sleeping on the couch.
" Is that him? Is he alright? " Louis inquired with concern, filling his voice as he walked closer to Haruame. Ukyo sighed again, For the nth time today, " Yeah, He's just sleep deprived. He hasn't slept for 19 hours because he was working. I made him some coffee but I wouldn't wake him up just yet. I was gonna let him sleep until lunch time or until he wakes up. His personality is very switched when he is awake " Ukyo explained ashe sat back down on the couch.
" Oh, His name Is Haruame Hinata. He is Ema's brother and he'll be staying with us for a while " Ukyo introduced Haruame, since said person was currently sleeping. Louis simply hummed as he continued to silently watch Haruame sleep peacefully.
A few minutes later, Haruame slowly woke up. He squinted his eyes because of light, He groaned as he sat up from laying down. He looked around and saw his glasses on the coffee table along with a cup of coffee that was now cold.
Haruame was very confused on where he was, He grabbed his glasses and put them on. He looked around but didn't see anyone around. He swung his legs over the side of the couch and stood up, he felt a spell of dizziness but quickly recovered. He wanted to check the time but couldn't find his phone, He probably left it upstairs. He had a really bad headache and his stomach was practically screeching at him because of its hunger.
" Damnit, I did it again " Haruame groaned as he sat back down on the couch and covered his eyes with his arm. He hates it when he does this, He has tried numerous times to stop himself from focusing too much when he works on projects but nothing has worked so far and He is getting irritated because It always leaves him with a headache and sore body.
Why am I like this?
