Through most of high school and college, Isaac had imagined living alone with Beck.
The reality was a little different than he’d thought it would be. He didn’t wake up in Beck’s arms, for one, or fall asleep to the sound of him breathing. Beck wasn’t allowed in Isaac’s room at all, in fact, and they kept a full couch cushion between them when watching TV.
The little things Isaac had pictured were the same, though. Beck spoiled him with good cooking, and he dragged Isaac on his morning runs. They bantered throughout the day, and just fit together the way they always had.
Living with Beck was easy. They knew each other so well they adjusted to each other’s habits as naturally as breathing.
Beck would go out for a few hours throughout the day to take pictures around the city to sell as stock photos, or if he had a client, he’d go out to find the image they needed. He rarely photographed clients, having made his niche in nature scenes and still-life photos.
