"It was such a nice time. Well spent, truly," an elder female commented while having Jade's hand in hers. "The females are very happy. We appreciate you trying to understand the traditions and taking a step forward."

Was it just her or was this woman implying something else?

It did not slip past Jade that the woman had the same baby blue eyes the whole Mekkelson clan had. It could be that she might be distinctly related to the Alpha family but the expressions that she had were somehow similar to the senior Alpha.

"Are you.." Jade hesitantly started, "related to—"

"Alpha Björn?" she completed for Jade, "Yes, I am his only sister. My name is Bente."

‘Well done,’ Jade smiled. Another Mekkelsen that she had to deal with and by the looks of this one, she was going to be a problem.

"Bente Me—"

"Aunt Bente," Bente corrected with the smile of a snake. "You and Malfrid are, after all, in a relationship, yes? That makes us family."
