"N, what's the mission? Let me do it this time. I need some action."
When they left for the assignment, J was excited. He was bored of staying in headquarters every day. Noah had become a tyrant among the alien population, and he also wanted to be famous.
'In the future, when those aliens hear my name, they better turn into obedient kittens!' To do that, he had to spread his name and heroic image through the mouths of those aliens.
"It's Jeff. He's kind of a big guy. Bring the tranquilizer." Noah warned.
"Nah man... The bigger they are, the harder they fall. Besides, how am I going to spread my name if he's asleep? What nickname do you think those aliens will give me? What about Agent Brave?"
"I think you should read the files again," Noah tried to remind him.
"No need. It's all up here in my head. Let's just go quickly, and get some dinner afterward."
At this time, it was getting dark, and there were fewer and fewer pedestrians on the streets. J was sitting in the car, singing, fantasizing that he would soon become a top agent, or even a senior agent, replacing Zed and making N his subordinate.
"Are we there yet? Didn't they say he lives in the subway lines or something?" J looked around and didn't see any aliens. 'Didn't they say he was a big guy?'
Noah pointed to the sewer grate in front of them, "There he is."
J glanced over, but there was nothing there. He carefully looked again and saw that there was a tiny flower growing out of the sewer grate.
"N, are you kidding me? That's a flower! Where's the big guy you keep talking about?"
J looked at the tranquilizer he brought. 'Such a large dose, it's enough to put down an elephant. Wouldn't this pop this little flower to death?'
"Yes, that's him, but you'd better be careful ... don't grab the flower!"
Noah was a little late, and J had already grabbed the small flower, "What did you say?"
Boom ~~
The lid of the sewer flew up. J felt that he was flying upwards, as he overtook the top of the tree canopy at the side of the road.
Roar~~
A fleshy worm as big as a train burst out of the ground, letting out a painful and angry scream. He was resting nicely down there. 'Who yanked my antenna?'
"Jeff, don't get angry. J is my partner, he's kinda stupid. You know our arrangement Jeff, you can't travel out of the E, F, and R subway lines."
"N! Why didn't you tell me it was part of him?" J was thrown off by Jeff and landed in a tree on the side, bounced twice, and plopped down on the grass.
"I said it was Jeff, I just didn't expect him to be much bigger than his profile. Looks like the New York inorganic garbage suited him well."
Boom ~~
Noah also had a big hole under his feet, but he jumped to the side. J flew up again.
"Fuck! Jeff, you're pissing me off. N! Don't you make a move! I'm gonna teach this guy a lesson!"
Although Jeff wasn't very smart, he knew that Noah wasn't easy to handle. When he missed a shot, he quickly decided to run away. However, no one expected J to be very useful. Using the large hole in the ground, J jumped right onto Jeff's back.
Noah had to admit that J's courage was beyond ordinary people. If he didn't have the enhancements from the system, Noah certainly wouldn't jump onto Jeff's back.
"N, I can do this. I can handle it without your help." J, riding on the worm, took out the tranquilizer from his pocket.
Poof!
J pushed down hard. The needle of the tranquilizer pierced the skin of the big worm. Jeff's body suddenly jerked, and J's head almost slammed onto the ceiling of the tunnel.
After shaking twice, J almost slid back 2 meters. Noah reached out to help J.
"Thanks, but I can handle it." J sat tight and climbed forward.
"Jeff, you know who we are. You're violating the rules. If you don't stop now, we're going to have to take action."
"Remember, it's Agent J that brought you down! "
J was finally able to crawl back to the tranquilizer gun. He reached out and pulled the trigger, allowing the anesthetic to get injected into the worm's body.
The big worm started to get anxious. Jeff started to frantically crawl forward, to try to escape while his body twisted like crazy, trying to throw the people off of his body.
...
In the subway station, there were a lot of people waiting for the subway. A train sped by, unfortunately, in the wrong direction. Everyone was looking at the tracks when another one sped by.
'What's happening? Why are there two subways going in the same direction? This one seemed faster than the last one. Won't there be a collision?'
On the back of the second 'subway train', J was confused.
"N, why isn't the tranquilizer working?"
This dose could put down an elephant! Jeff, stop! Let's talk this over! " J shouted.
"I think it's because Jeff gained a lot of weight. Or, the tranquilizer expired. Are you sure you don't want my help? You bought your weapon, right? Shoot it!" Noah leisurely sat on the worm's back. Even if it did feel like he was riding a galloping bull, it was way more exciting than sitting in a sports car.
"No, I can't shoot him. I tugged on his little flower thingy. If someone tugged on my hair, I'd be annoyed too. Jeff, listen to me. Stay still. If you destroy any more places, we'll have to send you to jail."
Although Jeff was huge, he never harmed anyone. Their assignment today was only to remind Jeff that he was restricted to certain areas of the subway line. They didn't come here to kill Jeff.
"You have to deal with this quickly. We're getting too close to the subway ahead. That would cause a lot of damage."
When they were about to hit the subway train, J finally pulled out his gun, "Jeff! Stop! or I'll shoot! "
Under the threat of death, the huge worm finally skidded and stopped. J, who wasn't holding on, was directly thrown forward. Noah jumped forward, grabbed J's wrist, and landed on the tracks.
There were several people, sitting on the last train, looking out the window. They were a little worried, seeing that there was a shadow of another subway train getting too close. There was a sudden flash of light, and everyone suddenly thought they were just seeing things.
"Jeff, don't go, let's talk. You have your own area according to the agreement, right? Don't forget next time."
"N! See! I knew I could handle this guy. Easy! "
Noah looked at J's disheveled state, and gave him a thumbs up, "Good job. If Jeff keeps wandering around the subway lines like this, Zed would have used our salaries to pay for the damages."
Boom ~~
Suddenly, they both felt the ground shake.
J looked at Noah in confusion, "What was that? An Earthquake? In Manhattan?"
