Rowan had no choice but to believe in himself. Even if ever fiber of his being screamed in protest of the abuse he'd willingly heaped on it, he needed to do just a little bit more before he could rest.
A realization surfaced through the haze of his anger as he stared at the adherents on the ground in front of him. There would always be more, and more, and more until he and the others found a way to stop it for good.
And Wren was still waiting for him. Rowan could never truly rest until he brought him home again.
His throat clenched with frustration, but he swallowed it down and sent his thoughts to Lysander. *I'm going to untangle them, one at a time. I don't know what will happen, but you need to be prepared.*
Lysander's measured response followed a moment later. *We'll be ready.*
I get so mad every time the Creature tries to look like Wren, but I get even madder now that he wants to be Sacha. Also, I couldn't include it because he's "off camera," but Lysander is really anxious right now even though he probably wouldn't show it very much. He doesn't want to lose his drinking buddy. Or his brother.
PS. Not too much longer until Wren is back.
