Chapitre 30: Chapter 30: I Trust You

“I’m sorry. I can’t,” I apologized, avoiding his gaze.

“You don’t trust me,” he said, an injured look on his face that tore my heart out of my chest.

He walked away before I could say more. I didn’t go after him, staying behind the pack.

Before long, we were back at the village. We made our way towards the elder’s sector, no elders to be found outside of Elder Jacob.

His eyes immediately narrowed at the sight of Markos, wedged between Noah and Sarai.

“What is this?” He demanded, looking to Abel for an answer.

“Another vampire trespasser. This one we found alive,” he replied.

“Lock him up. Perhaps we can finally get some answers out of him,” Elder Jacob replied dismissively.

Markos cocked his head back, releasing a stream of spit from his mouth that landed a few inches from Elder Jacob’s feet.
