Chapitre 12: Chapter 12: Tensions Prevail

I had barely made it a few steps when I felt a hand close on my arm. I yanked my arm out of her grasp, scowling.

“Don’t start anything,” Ruby threatened.

“Or what?” I challenged her.

“You’re outnumbered. You attack one of us, you attack all of us,” she said, gesturing towards the room. The chatter started to die down as others noticed us.

“Wouldn’t be the first time,” I said nonchalantly.

“What the hell is she doing here?!” Star’s roaring voice blasted through the room, causing all other noises to subside as she stormed up to us angrily.

“Star-” she started before she was cut off again.

“We don’t want her here. Get her out,” she demanded, pointing a finger at me.

“I’m the one giving orders here. You may work with the alpha, but don’t forget that I lead the Betas,” Ruby reminded, staring Star down until she backed up. I was surprised to see Star turn on her heel and walk away.
