After hearing everything first hand from Rachel, Rody clenched his eyes tight and dug his face into his hands. At this point he had pretty much accepted the fact that he and Samantha were no longer together, but to think that she would then immediately get with Raj was a little too much to bear. He took several moments to himself, trying desperately to keep his emotions in check. He was fully aware of Rachel sitting next to him. He prayed that she would not try to console him because that would probably push him over the edge and make him burst. Thankfully, she read the situation right and gave him some time to himself.

When Rody lifted his head back up, he had pushed down all the negative feelings to the very recess of his whole being. He promised himself that he would no longer let the thing with Samantha affect his peace of mind. He stared at the coffee table in front of him for a few minutes before turning towards Rachel.
