Chapitre 26: "Decision Made"
Catherine has given Paulo two choices and told him to decide wether he will leave his football dream and stay as her friend or go for his football dream but to break their friendship. Paulo was standing still as he couldn't believe that his best friend is forcing him to quit his football dream and Catherine was urging him to make a wise decision hence she means to say that he should quit his football dream. Catherine was confident that Paulo will not break there friendship and in the end he will surely leave his football dream. She was constantly telling him to make a final decision
"C'mon Paulo make it quick now, tell me what is your decision ? Will you leave that football thing for me or will you leave me for that football dream which you always dreamed of but actually it is nothing but truly senseless." Paulo was really gutted by that he said
"Cathy you know that I always wanted this, I always worked so hard every single day so that I can get my dreams into reality." Catherine wasn't so much being affected by his emotional talks instead she start pointing finger at him and questioning about his ambitions for football.
"Working hard ? Yeah Paulo there is no doubt that you are working but in a wrong direction, I mean you just tell me and I am also asking this seriously to you that do you even think that you can achieve your dream at this stage huh ? Paulo we are in the college, you and me are in our final year of the college and you are still trying to your dream come true which you dreamt when you were in your childhood when you don't even know how to use hand soap properly at that time." Paulo then tried to make her believe that his dream is finally coming to true.
"That's not true what you thinking alright ! Cathy my hard work is to be paid off within two days I am going to make my debut for the team and for that team who'd I support since my childhood days, seriously believe me everything is going fine." Paulo tried to make believe but that wasn't Catherine satisfied by it instead she was that Paulo is just thinking too much.
"Paulo please for GOD SAKE ! Please Stop that STOP ! I am trying to make you realise that what you are thinking right now that will never become a reality and answer a simple question, for how long you know those peoples and that team personally who are telling you that you are going to play for them, c'mon tell me ? well it is only 2 weeks you since you met them, you them only for just 2 weeks and believe in them more than me who always been with you since you were child." After Catherine's questions Paulo can't exactly answer her questions but he just said that
"Yeah ! you are right, I only know them for only two weeks but there is nothing wrong to believe in them, since I had met them they all supported me, at the very beggning they all wanted me to be the part of their team, whenever I play with them I never feel that they are a unknown to me in fact they all treated me like a good old friend whom they for a very long time and they never think that I am a outsider, they always considered me as the part of their team, they always considered me as their teammate." Paulo telling her that how good his teammates are later on Catherine was getting too much annoyed by his talks as she was thinking that it is all nonsense and due to that annoyed feeling she said.
"Paulo they are just making a fool of you. All they are just doing is to use you as their personal training equipment. Paulo you are nothing more than that, and think something by yourself as well, why do you even they would chance to a guy who never been in any sort of professional football, I mean since living with you I also know something about football as well and one thing that I know very well that any football club to not let a person to play in match who never had any professional football experience before and you ! you are not professional but also never made into the college team since last two years and you think that will allow you to play, It is not that easy as you think Paulo." Catherine was doing her best to make Paulo understand that he will never get into a professional football club but Paulo also remained in his stand and said.
"Who knows that I might get chance to play for them, if not now then might be in future. Cathy you have plenty of reasons to make me believe that I will never achieve my dream but I have only one chance to make dream to become a reality." Paulo after telling his perspective to Cathy but that was nothing more than a uncertain motivational and inspirational talk for her and she gets even more harsh on him this time.
"You have completely gone insane ! I am sorry to say but you have totally gone IN.... SANE ! I mean how much a person so stubborn and so much non sensible. Uh... Uh I seriously do not understand why you are soooo, so hmhhhh.." Catherine said and showing her frustrations and then she continues by saying.
"You have completely lost it I understand, you have completely lost, I don't know why I am talking you just let it be." Catherine after that was about leave but Paulo stopped her by putting his hand on her shoulder and turns her around towards himself and then said.
"Cathy I always thought that you are my only best friend who always understand me and my all those which I love, I always think that you will always be there for me and be my side, I just want nothing from but just forgive me and to stay my friend and not just a friend but my best friend that we were before, please I don't want this friendship to be broken, please Cathy." Paulo after pleading to her, she was determined to make him choose any one of it.
"My decision is clear but you have to make a decision, stick with me or stick with you football." Catherine after Paulo was looking that he made his decision and Catherine was confident that he had decided to leave football, Paulo said.
"Ok if that's the case, Ok then." Paulo after that said nothing he just simply turned around started walking away it was confirmed that Paulo had choosen football over their her. While Catherine was totally in shock, she couldn't believe that Paulo choosen football over her. She was calling out his name and asking to stop but Paulo never listened and leave her there.
