Chapitre 52: Dire Wolves
Despite his sickness and miserable state Lin Cian didn't give up. He didn't want to drag his party down. So he stand up even if he couldn't because all the party members of this party were concerned about their team members. Even though they are of the same party if a noble or someone who has higher status in the party will no longer be concerned about others but themselves. They won't let others drag them. They almost act like they don't have a heart. They never risk themselves for others and choose to fight against the weak but go to any extent to maintain relationships with stronger families and individuals. And it is not new that they will not worry about abandoning someone even if they were very loyal and have risked many times to save them. Of course, not all nobles are the same. There were some loyal nobles despite their background but they were very hard to find.
Lin Cian felt for a minute that he was lucky enough to be with them. He pledged himself not to abandon any of them. Lin Cian had sharp hearing so he could hear mild voices of women screaming and men crying for help.
"I could hear them," said Lin Cian not caring about himself. June came to him
"He will stay here with me," she said in a caring tone looking at him. She looked at the others for their opinions. The other members of the party also accepted her proposal because Lin Cian's condition was very weak and he couldn't even move properly. They left Lin Cian with June and started to move in the direction that Lin Cian pointed out.
It was dark but out of the blue five people were rushing towards the forest. After moving for a few meters in the direction that Lin Cian pointed out William also confirmed the location of the people of the Lassi village. A strong source of smell invaded his nostrils and he became very attentive to that. Upon realizing that his sense of direction was strong the other members followed him. They didn't care about their prestige or the fact that they were led by a newbie because they already have taken him as one of them.
After an hour of rushing towards the forest with William and Avada in the front Wei Lin and Harry on the sides and Darius in the rear, they reached the place where the screams and cries were very loud. The smell of blood, puke, drool, and excreta were very strong which even made William's heart burst out. William shut his nose with his hands and moved slowly because they were extremely near to the target. Because William already predicted the target he sprayed some blood with mud on the ground over their faces and body before they start to move.
When they were extremely near they lowered themselves to the ground and crawled toward their target. All five of them had a heart attack after seeing the scene in front of them.
Beasts of the color brown that looked similar but larger than wolves were doing heartless activities. The heard screams came from women who were the ones being ravished and defiled by those beasts. These beasts were very intelligent as they chose the woman for their furry act and seemed not to care about them. The screams of the women went unnoticed in the beast's ears as it continued to do it as if nothing happened. Even sometimes the beasts would have a bite of flesh from them while engaged in their activities.
The heard cries came from men who were being eaten alive. The broken tendons and muscles spill blood out of its will. The hands, legs the ribs were bitten violently by the beasts. One man will be attacked at a time and more than four wolves will bite him and tear his skin as he would cry in pain. Now the beasts drag a boy from the little crowd the beasts imprisoned.
He was shorter and was about a meter tall. He was skinny and his voice went to a pitch of two octaves over his average pitch when the beasts drag him.
Upon seeing the heartless scene in front of them the party members were stupefied. A mist of fear invaded them but they have no turning back. The cries and screams of men and women made them feel lifeless but there is no turning back now. Their eyes turned bloodshot. None of them expected to see sadist type of beasts. William charged first
"Bastards.... let them go"
He slashed his spear towards one of the beasts and it was split into half. The other beasts were alerted by this and started to move towards William. The other members of the party also showed up and they started to initialize their attack.
"Whirlwind" shouted Aveda.
The members of the ghost party positioned themselves in a rounded position with Aveda and Harry at the front, William in the middle, and Wei Lin and Darius at the rear. Aveda and Harry attacked as strong as they could and then rushed to the rear. Wei Lin and Darius rushed themselves towards the front and made their attack then moved to the rear. The process was repeated a few times and William was always at the center. This was to protect him and also give him a stable position as he was not very experienced in team fights or hunts. William who stood in the center attacked the beasts that tried to get close to them when the people moved from front and rear.
The tactic worked well but it was not invincible. A not very long time has passed but the five of them felt a very strong pressure from the side of the beasts only to find that they were surrounded. They were completely surrounded by more than forty beasts.
Much to their surprise the beasts didn't pounce on them but growled at them. They felt strange but none of the party members let go of their guard. William was at the center of the other party members even though he realized the seriousness of the situation he stood still as the others did. The beasts had an equal strength as the old members of the party had but there came a beast towards them that was stronger than the other members of the party.
"Leader level!" said the older members of the party.
"Dire... wolf," said William as his position became dense and tense. William loosen his guard and pierced his spear on the ground and looked at the members of his party who were facing away from him. Suddenly the other members of the party could hear the sound of bones breaking and clothes tearing. William started to scream in pain
"Newbie are you ok?" asked Wei Lin.
"William...." Before Aveda could finish her words a loud howl evaded the whole area.
