"You sure this is okay?" I ask as Alex pulls up to his house. There's one car in the driveway, but he's assured me it belongs to his dad, who isn't home. It's an extra vehicle in case one gets wrecked, and his mom is working overnight.
"Yeah." He turns off the engine. "You sure you're okay with spending the night? Your mom's not going to like, kill me, is she?"
"No. She'll leave that to my Aunt Milly."
"Great."
"They probably assume I'm at Savvy's or something." I roll my eyes with a shrug. "I'll hear about it tomorrow."
"But they're going to say the same thing, right? That they want you to break up with me."
"Probably. And we'll have the same fight." I open the truck door and climb out. "Not thinking about it now."
