Chapitre 134: Motive

Louisa stood up straight. Since she didn't know what to make of all that, she stepped away from him.

"Who are you?" she asked the man, somewhat suspiciously.

"Well," Garron, stalling from giving an immediate answer, reached close enough to pick up the back of her hand. Bending over to kiss it, he kept his eyes; dark and bold, glued to her face as he had his way. "It's a pleasure to meet you," he said, stealing away to his previous place. "I thought you would be more thankful considering how I just saved your life?"

"I am." Louisa was just polite. "But that is not what I want to know."

"Well, I am Garron. I hope the fall — nearfall, did not startle you too much, my dear."

"It didn't," Louisa said. "And thank you." She turned to leave.
