Chapitre 18: Chapter 18

It takes one week for the boat to reach the port and honestly, I was bored for the first time. I had a whole week worth of free time that I didn't know what to do.
I did plan a little as to how I would sneak in and that wasn't a problem. The problem was "How do I join the academy?"
Almost all the academies in this world would accept orphans, as almost every ninja family has someone in their family that die in wars or during missions. I just needed to show them that I was from the Hidden Cloud Village or the Land of Lightning.
That's what I was worried about. The academy usually does a slight investigation about the background of the ninjas. Because, even though they want ninjas, it would be foolish to train an enemy ninja or someone who holds a grudge against the village.
Even if I use the mind numb to enter the academy, I can't escape the investigation process. I needed an identity in the Land of Lightning.
The couple I met were a famous in the Land of Lightning. The husband was a rich trader and the wife was a famous Orian in the town he lived. That explained her beauty.
They had gone to the Land of Hot Water for a vacation and lived there for four years. It was their honeymoon and their kid was born in the vacation. Since they liked the change in atmosphere, they decided to stay there till now.
This was the things I got to know with the mind sweep. I used them to practice my techniques. I needed something kill time and what better way than to both practice my techniques and also get some entertainment.
It had been 5 days since I boarded the boat and just when j was thinking about what will happen, I feel that God had heard my worries and finally decided to do something for me after all this time.
That night, when everyone was sleeping and the sea was too calm, like the silence before the storm. Then an arrow shot from the sides and hit a crew member. He screamed in pain and it alerted the ninjas on the boat.
It was a boat with rich people travelling and many rich families hire ninjas for protection. A battle broke out and it looked like the pirates knew how to deal with ninjas.
When the ninjas were alerted by the screams, they rushed to the scene and looked around for the enemy.
The pirates took this as a chance to board the boat. They boarded the boat from the other side, using the attack to divert the ninja's attention.
The fight broke out and the pirates obviously had the upper hand. It was their turf and they knew how to handle it properly.
While some pirates fought the ninjas on the boat, other pirates surrounded the boat with their boats and attacked with arrows.
This also indicated that they knew exactly who would come. The boat was surrounded by four pirate ships and they constantly shot arrows.
The fight continued for three hours and the noise woke up everyone on the boat. The couple beside me was also like other families, terrified as to what will happen.
Thr kid's mother hugged him tightly as she looked at me. She brought me closer to her and said "It doesn't look like your parents are on the boat. Don't worry, you will be safe."
We were in a situation where even she won't be able to survive, but she still was worried about me. I was honestly touched. His husband shouted at her and said "Why do you care about a low life kid? We already have a lot to handle. Don't get involved other people's matters."
I didn't like her husband. Then, the door to the room burst open and a man with rugged clothes and blade in their hand.
He shouted "Listen here scum, we have completely taken over this boat. If you want to survive, hand over any valuables you have, and pay for the members to be spared.
The cost for a man's life is 100,000 ryo, women is 500,000 ryo and for kids, it's 400,000 ryo." The husband whispered to the lady holding me and said "Look, we have to pay for his life. I already told you to get rid of him. He must be an orphan who sneaked into the boat."
She looked at him, but didn't let go of me. This actually moved me to tears while I didn't hate the husband that much. No one would risk their life for a stranger, or pay that much money for them.
The pirate then went to everyone and started collecting money and looting their luggage. When it came to us, she actually paid for me under the sight of both the husband and son.
They both didn't like her paying for me. After the pirate looted everyone, he immediately killed the person who was last. One man shouted in fear "Didn't you say you would let us go if we gave away our money?"
The pirate let out a villain laugh and said "Well you see, I am amazed that you even trusted the words of a criminal."
Everyone was horrified when they heard that. Everyone started running away from the pirate and the pirate was enjoying the scene.
Since the only exit was behind the pirate, there was no use running from him. We were trapped in the room with no way of running away.
The pirate came closer to us with an excited look. He started slaughtering everyone he saw. We were well behind in the line and it took a while for him to get to us.
I noticed the husband glaring at his wife. When the pirate got closer to us, the husband pushed his wife forward and said "She is the most famous Orian in my town. Let me go and you can take her with you."
Now this pissed me off too much. He was completely a rich scum I remember from my previous world. Guess they don't change anywhere.
The pirate looked at her and said "You are right, she sure is beautiful. But what made you think that I needed your permission for that." slitting his throat.
I was honestly happy when I saw that. The pirate spared us and started killing the rest. When she looked at her husband's body, she didn't have any tears. Instead, she had a disgust when she saw him.
After he was done killing the others, he came to us and said "I am going to have a fun time."
He then looked at me and the kid. He brought out his blade again and came towards us.
When he was close enough, I stared at his eyes and he stared at me. After that, he silently left the room.
