Chapitre 35: The growing family
In 1993, we began taking HYDRA spies and agents hiding outside the US. There were still many big and small leaders who maintained control of the remaining group. We compiled a list:-

· Baron Strucker
· Daniel Whitehall
· Shiekh
· Octavian Bloom
· The Baroness
· Banker
These were the main people as we went after. Apart from Daniel Whitehall, all the others were easily tracked and traced. By the end of 1993, Hydra had its last remaining head alive and somewhere hiding.
This global elimination of Hydra leaders and their members resulted in the huge weakening of this group. Most of the members of Hydra had a dual life. They had a nice public image and taking them out legally became an issue. However, we never needed any legal approval for our actions.
We became known as the killers or assassins but no one could find us or trace us. SHIELD claimed they had no knowledge of any such action taken on global action and hence their hands were clean.
The underground world had a rumour about a group of people in black, who once come will reap the life away. They needed no proof or investigations and their verdict came with a bullet. Everyone was afraid of us. This somehow resulted in a decrease in the crime rate in many troubled parts of the US and major cities across the globe.
The most challenging base of Hydra was the 'HYDRA Preparatory Academy'. Built-in a decommissioned United States Army bunker located in the Appalachian Mountains where members of HYDRA sent their children to become part of Hydra and grow up in that ideology.
We had no idea how to deal with these kids. They were not criminals and had done nothing wrong except their parents were HYDRA loyalists. In the end, Fury had to call in multiple favours from Keller to place these kids in a different special school in a remote location supervised by SHIELD.
Somehow, we went from rescuing Bucky from HYDRA brainwashing to brainwashing HYDRA kids. We really felt bad for these kids but we could not afford to have another HYDRA uprising. They were destined to be monitored for life.
----1994----
17 April 1994.
After almost two years together, I married Melina on the Shadow Isles. We sent the pictures to US media and posted them online for the world to see. Got registered legally in court and everything.
It was a grand event that was covered in all media. Melina had a very personal and close profile which somehow leaked in the press and was also reported wildly. The single heir of rich parents and three PHDs from reputable universities (thanks to Martha and some donations). She was intelligent, smart and a very beautiful woman.
Our two daughters Nat and Yelena were kept hidden from the media now. After the passing of our teammates last year, this wedding brought happiness and a smile that somehow had gone missing on everyone's faces.
On December 16, Martha gave me a notification claiming to find a hit on a name I had entered into the hero database. This was very surprising as the name was part of future superheroes.
One blind boy who recently lost his parents was admitted into a Saint Agnes Orphanage and his name is entered into child care services in the US. He matched all the parameters I had set for a future hero that I personally loved - Matt Murdock.
After much debating and thinking, I went personally with Melina to adopt him.
"Are you sure you want to adopt this child, Phil?" she asked me.
"You have no idea love how special this boy is. Don't focus on the blind part because he can see beyond what you can imagine and his other senses are enhanced beyond normal human range.
He can be a future knight given proper training. Besides, girls are growing up too fast. We need a young brother for them. They need to learn how to be more responsible and Erik also needs a playmate apart from animals. That boy loves wandering the forest alone too much." I explained to her my part before we reached the Orphanage.
"Hello, we have a meeting with Sister Kathy. We are here to adopt this boy, Matt Murdoch." I entered the orphanage and met the head nurse. I explained our purpose and she was beyond happy. It was rare for her to see a rich man like me coming to adopt any kid from this orphanage.
We met Matt alone in a room and he was looking blankly at the roof. Melina decided to talk to him. After a short conversation, we told him that if he comes with us, we will take him to a land of dreams. He somehow agreed. I think he tested us if we were lying to him or not and judged us using his ability.
Matt fell asleep on the journey and when he woke up he was in a completely different place. He was scared first but then he was found by his two elder sisters. He went from a single orphan child living in the city to being the youngest child of 3 in a family living with dinosaurs.
I think he slept peacefully the next few days. Yelena and Nat grew very protective of him and he finally found a friend in Erik. They had a similar history and somehow these four kids became a tight group of mischiefs.
Fury and I decided to establish a proper school for them and the future kids we will bring here. "The Knights academy" opened its doors on 25th December 1994 on Christmas and I heard Martha telling me Yelena planning to poison me the next day.
I am still alive so I think they cancelled their plan or maybe it was a huge number of gifts on Christmas that somehow saved my life. I will never know.

There is calmness in the outside world but in Jan 1995 something happened on our base. Erik Stevenson went missing. He went on one of his tours in the forest but never came back.
"Phil, tell me there is something on his body that you can trace. Just tell me how we can find him?" Rogers stormed into the operations room and asked me. I was already discussing this with Fury.
"Erik has been travelling in mountains in last few months but he would always come back and I had checked him remotely multiple times. He would just sit on some branches and look into the sky or swing on those branches like Tarzan. But he was safe. Now, I think he is still in this mountain area and we are going to rescue him. Since you have already suited up, let's go." I said and Rogers and Bucky along with a few knights rushed towards the mountains.
This was still a largely unexplored area and now, we were going straight in.
