Yusuf Zuck really wasn't in the mood for jokes tonight; one reason was that he was preoccupied, the other was because Lara Tuff wasn't home tonight. With only a man and a woman in the deep of the night, it didn't seem appropriate to jest around with Ruth Wilcox, and that's why he became all serious.

After a brief walk around the second floor, even taking a glance at Ruth Wilcox's boudoir, he turned and headed downstairs.

Ruth Wilcox, too, didn't say anything, nor did she pose any questions. She was simply too exhausted and sleepy, her head filled with matters from the company, and so she also hoped to rest early.

After descending the stairs, Yusuf dialed Samuel Ross to remind him to be vigilant tonight. After all, Sara Zuck was still staying at the hotel, and if Otis Quinn decided to play dirty and attempt a midnight raid to seize someone, it would be too late for regrets.

Those who mixed in the society couldn't be measured by normal rationale, so caution was paramount.
