Chapitre 14: Ch 14 Cranes in the Wind
It's been 3 weeks and I've still failed to brute force my way into Ta-lo but I've gotten much farther in and my AGI increased by 1 while flying in my mist form meaning I can train even in mist form.
Today is the day that the true passage opens up and hopefully, my memory of the path from the movie gets me in.
I step in front of the bamboo forest about 5 meters away, the path suddenly opens up and I immediately turn to mist and start flying down the trail.
Left, left, right, straight, left, right is the path I've taken thus far I'm keeping a good pace, but the path behind me is closing faster and faster.
I keep heading straight and take a couple more turns and according to the movie if I keep going straight on it should take me right there. It seems like a wall of bamboo ahead of me, but I just charge ahead, and right before I crash the wall of bamboo opens up into a small clearing with a waterfall.
I turn back physical and walk through the waterfall, I'm submerged in water though I'm not floating. I try my hardest to hold my breath but I fail luckily I can breathe normally despite feeling the water in my lungs.
I keep walking while watching the beautiful swirling surroundings until I step out into a cave and see a collapsing water portal behind me. When I walk out of the cave I see a beautiful verdant valley.
So this is a different dimension I see the flaming birds flying about as well as the colorful horse-like qilins trotting around and the white nine-tailed foxes, lots of cool new beasts to tame to get. The air here smells fresher and the colors are more colorful.
This would be a nice place to live, I walk further in and see people dressed in yellow and blue robes around collecting berries and meandering about. When they see me they go wide-eyed and run away.
I follow them and eventually arrive at their village next to a large lake, a line of people equipped with blades, bows, shields, and staffs all made of dragon scales.
"Woah Woah Woah, I'm friendly I'm not here to attack or free the obviously evil dweller in darkness, I'm only here for training" I say holding out my arms.
"Who are you to come here and ask for strength" the man in the center shouts, he looks old yet strong.
"I am Yang a soothsayer I wish for training to defeat a future enemy of yours, he and his rings of power are weak to your fighting" I say.
"Your words will not deceive me outsider" he says to me.
As if on cue 30 ninjas with the emblem of the Crane Society on their arm burst fort into the clearing. One of them is wearing white robes and has a black mask.
"It seems your backup has arrived outsider" the man says.
"You got it all wrong I'm an associate of the Council of 7, these guys are my enemy too" I shout back and throw some daggers at the ninjas for good measure but they take out war fans and smack them out of the air.
The man doesn't get the chance to talk as the Crane ninjas charge in to attack us. The one in white heads for the man that seemed in charge of the village.
2 of the ninjas come and attack me with metal war fans, the first of the 2 swing horizontally at me with the sharp edge I deflect his strike upwards with my left hand and quickly slit his throat with my dagger.
I turn to the left and see the other ninja inches from cutting off my head but I turn to mist as their fan effortlessly passes through me.
I reform behind him and plunge my dagger into the back of his head. I turn to see a group of 3 ninjas attacking a group of villagers.
I turn to mist and fly up above their heads then turn back and drop onto the heads of 2 of them stabbing my daggers down into them.
The last of the 3 looks at me in confusion and one of the villagers stabs him while he's distracted. I give the villager a smile and a nod before misting away to the next battle.
I fly up to get a better view and see that only 5 ninjas remain and the white one is unarmed and attacking with fists covered in dark energy.
I gain some momentum traveling toward the white one and turn physical 10 meters above the ground I throw some daggers down at the ninjas below sans the white one. I managed to kill 2 more from the sky.
I approach the white ninja from behind with a flying kick, but he turns and deflects my attack with a dark Chi-covered kick in the sternum knocking me away.
I stand up to face him and see both the strong old man from before with a sword and shield and a beautiful female warrior standing unarmed with the wind swirling around her.
"Looks like it's us 3 versus that guy, names Yang by the way" I say as I turn to mist and try to get behind him.
The white ninja punches my mist cloud away, I don't reform but I feel I've taken damage.
"To think the lowly Council of 7 gave away their power to a child like you, pathetic" the white ninja exclaimed.
I fly above him and hover he doesn't seem to have any long-range attacks that can hurt me so I'm safe up here.
"Genji this child is not our enemy we must team up to fight back the Crane ninja" the female said.
"Ok Jia I'll trust him, you mist kid let's fight him together" Genji shouts up at me.
They both charge into him Genji tries to slash at him but the ninja deflects those attacks while Jia gets in close and hits him with a wind-powered strike that sends him flying back where a reformed me is waiting daggers in hand.
I stab both blades down to kill but he blocks the one heading for his face. My other dagger buries deep into his ribs but his arms start pulsating with dark energy and I jump back.
The ninja rushes after me and is about to hit me in the face but Genji jumps in to block it with his shield. The blow is so strong it pushes me and Genji back a few meters. Genji holds his arm in pain so I turn my left arm to mist and direct it to fly around the ninja's head to block his vision.
I see Jia leap in and kick the ninja in the face I keep my mist with him to keep blocking his vision and then run in to finish him off with a dagger to his heart.
The ninja in white collapses to the ground as the 3 of us get our breath back before they can say anything I turn to mist to get a bird's eye view to see any lingering battles. Luckily all the remaining ninjas are dead I then return to Jia and Genji's side.
"All ninjas are dead, the battle is won" I say as relief spreads on their faces.
Genji steps forth "Thank you Yang, I apologize for doubting you I am Genji Chief of the village, did you come to stop the Crane society?"
"No worries Genji and to answer your question no I came to train to stop Xu Wenwu the warrior king" I continue "He isn't supposed to show up here causing trouble for another 600 years give or take I'm hoping to nip that in the bud now"
Genji's face looks troubled "Well for now we must tend to the injured and clean up the battlefield I'm sure you can explain fully later" he says
The battle is won and I already got to fulfill my promise to the Council and fuck with the Crane Society, I doubt this will be the last time.
After the battle I leveled up, these ninjas gave more Exp than normal especially the ninja in white.

Hey guys I'm not dead sorry for dipping last year I'm not going to make excuses it's just life stuff.
I was busy but probably could have written but just didn't
Anyway, I started writing a different series and thought I'm not dropping one to write another so here I am.
Giving you a 3 Chapter drop as an apology :)

Both series will get 1 chapter a week minimum on Sundays might release more if I'm on a role.
