Chapitre 92: Ch 82 – Avoiding Death
Inside a forest full of beautiful green trees full of vitality, a person with white hair wearing a white shirt and pants was walking around with a floating white book inlaid with golden symbols around him like a magical object of myth.
"So there should be a high chance of a river in this direction, the humidity is higher and the trees are more vibrant according to the Akashic Records" I muttered while walking through the wall of trees while grabbing some tree branches along the way for some future purposes.
After a while, I heard the distinct sound of water running, and with wide eyes, I took off into a fast sprint as it was about to be noon already and I'm starving, I haven't eaten anything for probably a few hours already but because of magic, it offset a bit of the effect of the mortal body's needs.
And like heaven presenting itself to my dry lips, a flowing river of beautiful water was seen filled with fish swimming around it has appeared.
With a starved grin, a certain spell flashed through my mind which I cast in an instant.
"Water Ball," I said as I needed to chant to lessen the concentration needed for me and also make the spell a bit stronger to gather a larger mass of water from the river.
With a drain from my mana supply, a ball of water floated towards me from the river containing some fish within it which made my stomach grumble as the ball got near me.
I hurriedly grab the two fishes inside the ball of water and grasp their head to death to stop them from wildly wiggling in my hands.
As I looked at the two fishes with a grin, I hurriedly went towards the river to clean the fishes and take out the scales with some help of my crude mana control which is hilarious compared to the time I have Louis's cheats but it was still feasible.
After some difficulty, I successfully descaled and de-organed the fishes from their insides and cleaned off my bloody hands and fishes in the river that attracted some other fishes over who ate some of the fleshy bits that were dragged by the river.
"Whew, good thing I have the spell Spark to produce some flames for me," I said with a relieved sigh and drag out the fishes from the river towards the pile of clean leaves I put on the earthy ground beside us far away from the river but also the trees.
I then went towards the trees near the river to pluck out some branches with slight difficulty but I managed to do it in the end and created a crude mana knife to make the ends a bit sharp to pierce the fishes and cook them over a fire.
After a few minutes, a campfire was finally made and I hung the fishes on top of it on a wooden platform and plopped down on the ground with a grunt as a feeling of satisfaction overwhelmed my stressed-out F rank body.
With a blank stare, I watched the fish cook on top of the blazing hot fire as I wondered how spells were even made in the first place.
"Hmm, I have a bit of a spell list already so maybe I can make my own magic spells derive from others? Let's see, spells are in the end, just visualizations of the end result that are helped by the spell manual. So theoretically, I can make any spell I want to with the required steps" I muttered while flipping through the pages of the floating book beside me.
"Sigh, still not enough data to create spells, maybe once I get the other elemental balls I can make a fireball," I said while the fishes finally finish cooking and summoned a ball of water out of nowhere without relying on the world around me which costed more mana but it's manageable because it's only an F rank spell.
I then threw the water ball towards the fire to dispel it and grabbed one of the fish to eat it.
"Mmm, it could have used some condiments but it still tastes fine" I muttered while I continued to eat the fresh fish skewered on a stick.
(A Few Minutes Later)
"Burp" I let out a burp as I finished eating the second fish and threw the sticks to the ground beside me and stood up from the ground.
"My talent is pretty mediocre from what I have seen but because of the aid of the Akashic Records, it has helped me optimize my current skills and magic path, but I could probably also focus on alchemy to speed up my mana acquisition, but the lack of learning resources is the roadblock right now for my progress so let's try to find a kingdom shall we?" I said to myself as I cast a very convenient spell Clean on myself to clean my clothes within an instant.
With that, I continued my venture of finding civilization in this unknown forest for a couple of hours and when the sun was already setting in the distance, I got out of the large forest with an exhausted body to see a kingdom in the distance!
"Ha! Freedom!" I said with a sparkle in my eyes and hurriedly rushed towards it at a manageable pace with my already aching body while looking at the book in my hand to see what that kingdom was from my hazy mind.
[Kingdom of Or… economy is focused on adventurers and exploiting the forest near it…] as the book presented itself to me passages of text I learned as a past time from before in the royal capital where the emperor resides, I knew that I was on the western side of the Central Continent, and luckily, I know a place that is useful for my magical progress that is located on the far west side of the continent that is abundant with magic.
[The Kingdom of Magic/Magic Kingdom/Land of Magic, a place under the rule of the grand sage, a being whose magical prowess nears those of heroes and reincarnates… due to it being near the western continent or aptly named the Continent of Elves, the mana in the kingdom is abundant with the help of its natural location and magical rituals done by the sage…]
It should only take me a couple of days to reach the Kingdom of Magic, over there I could start my business and rapidly learn the arts of magic and perhaps even learn under the sage!
With brimming eyes, I rushed over towards the kingdom with aching legs until I realized something I could do with that damn floating book.
"Come out! Akashic Records!" I said as the book beside me rapidly expanded which I hurriedly hop on and just like that, I have a floating book as a ride, and not only that, I could make the book invisible so I could just make it thin, and float near the ground so it looks like I am still running with my fake leg movements.
And just like that, I breezed through the area until I was only a few hundred meters away from the kingdom in the distance in a meadow of green grass and nobody seems to be in sight so I could still fly like this on top of the magical floating book.
I then flew over towards the road in the distance while hiding behind a series of trees near it so I can walk towards it like I wasn't just flying around a few seconds ago and after seeing that the coast is clear with no adventurers or traveling merchants around, I got out of the bushes towards the dirt road to continue walking with revitalized legs from the rest it received on a magical book ride.
Without any problems, I walked for a few more seconds until I saw that a guy wearing silver armor in the distance walking down the same road as me at a much faster pace appeared in the distance behind me wearing dirty leather armor… an opportunity!
"H- hey!" I shouted to the guy in the distance with a wave of my arms as he looks at me with a raised eyebrow.
"You need help with your armor? I can cast Clean on your whole body for the low low price of 10 silver" I said with a smile while the book was behind him floating and I rapidly read the passage of text that appeared to get the appropriate steps I must do to please the guy.
"Oh? You know 10 silver is a bit too much for just a simple cleaning? I could just order a guy to clean this for 1 silver" said the guy with an amused smile as I saw his D rank badge on his chest which means he must have some spare cash lying around, above E rank adventurers start to get a bit of money.
"But! I can clean it in an instant and I guarantee you that it would be as clean as new, you do know magic is magical right?" I said with a desperate smile while walking toward the guy.
"Sigh, I see that you must be going through something hard right now, you're not an adventurer, you're wearing some simple clothes, and you seem to have nothing on you besides that, so why not? I can be a good guy if I want to" said the man with a chuckle as my eyes glowed with stars.
"T- thank you!" I said while hurriedly walking beside him to cast clean and he was indeed impressed with how clean his armor, weapon, and even body became as if he was just bathed in a luxurious spa.
"Woah! I didn't know Clean could do that, well here you go, ten silver coins" said the man with a satisfied smile and gave me ten silver coins which is equivalent to 5 or 10 nights inside a normal inn inside a normal kingdom.
"Thank you! I really needed the money, I don't know how I can repay this to you" I said to him with a bow as he patted me on the back.
"No worries, well goodbye then! I hope you have a good life ahead of you!" said the man as he continued his jog towards the kingdom.
I then look at the 10 silver coins in my hand with a relieved sigh and then looked at the man in the distance with a smirk at how lucky he was.
Because if he did refuse my offer, well murder is an option I can't possibly refute when none is left for me to pick from.
