Chapitre 10: Corvinus Clan
A week later Selene found herself living in a two-story spacious house in a small town in Cumbria, England. After slipping from under her kin's nose with Theodore's help, they boarded a plane to England, and in the cover of the night, she made her way into this small town with Theodore.
As of now, she was given a cozy room as her permanent lodging and few blood bags to clench her thirst, she barely sparked any conversation with Theodore as the man holed himself inside the lab underneath the house for the past five days, she has seen the lab with her eyes, it wasn't that grand or impressive but the contents within it is unlike any equipment's she has ever come across.
Weird devices were connected to a piece of round glowing thing that seem to generate an endless amount of energy, according to Theodore that thing can power a large mansion for more than 10 years without any maintenance but if it was well maintained it could generate power for almost a 100 years.
If someone other than him said that she would have rudely laughed at their face, but since it's Theodore she didn't bother to judge its credibility, if the man said it was capable of generating power for that amount of time, then it was the truth.
"Although I am enjoying this newfound peace, I don't know how long it will last." Selene muttered while she brewed some tea on the oven, by now her act of betrayal should have reached to every ears of her kin, so it won't be long before her location was discovered unless she leaves the premise of this house, as long as she is under Theodore protection there is no way in hell anyone can bring harm upon her.
But she knew Vampire's resentment better than anyone, they are going to come after her that is an event that no one can change, no matter how much she has sacrificed for her coven & her own race, they would never forgive her, even people like Amilia will be in favor of executing her, maybe that's why Theodore killed her.
Humming with the soft music from the radio placed on the dining table, she fetched two cups from the drawer and poured the tea, she walked through the kitchen to the hallway before she reached at the foot of the stairs leading to the second floor, she pushed opened the slightly ajar basement door under the stairs with her feet and took the stairs.
Once she was downstairs, she found Theodore tinkering with some kind of metallic exoskeleton of a human being on an autopsy table, while bright light poured down on the table from the circular track light from the ceiling.
"What is that? Yesterday it wasn't there?" OfCourse curiosity got the better of her on seeing a thing straight out of sci-fi movies.
"Oh, this... Well, this is a small gift for a crazy friend, it will be functional within a few days." Theodore said, and turned towards her only to flash a surprising look on his face.
"Your choice of clothes is quite bold" Theodore commented while he cleaned his dirty hands with a towel.
At first, she was confused, until Selene looked down at her body while she wondered what was wrong with her dress.
Her night robe was missing from her body, revealing the sexy see-through lace nightgown, he could basically see her nipples and her innerwear through her dress.
If this was another man, she would have emptied a cap in his body by now, but she doesn't have the gut to shoot Theodore, because it would be a terrible mistake for messing with someone like this, and that man doesn't even spare a second glance back at her after those words, and this slightly unnerved her, she was incredibly charming, intelligent and so increasingly sexy that she knew she was the main event of every men hottest erotic fantasies, but he doesn't even give a shit about her womanly wiles.
She let out a dejected sigh and offered him the cup of tea "So tell me, Selene, how is this place treating you?" Theodore asked while he took the cup.
"This place is calm and peaceful. I like it here." She answered honestly, the week felt like a dream to her, a life without violence, blood & slavery who doesn't want a life like that? As a Death Dealer, she was basically a slave to the Vampire's hierarchy, she can't say no to their orders.
"Hmm, I see. Good for you." He replied as he reclined back in his chair. "Grab a chair for yourself." He advised her, she nodded and made herself comfortable on a desk chair.
"What if I say I can make you immune to sunlight and increase your strength by ten folds or maybe greater than that?" Theodore asked calmly.
"I find it hard to believe, but those words are said from your mouth. So, what do I have to do?" She asked, excited about the possibility to walk under the sun, she can finally live & experience a normal life that she yearned for so long.
"You see these blood samples here, it's Michael Corvin's, I am talking about the American guy from the metro station. He is the modern-day descendant of the Corvinus Clan & well, the man with who you would have played the mating game in future."
Theodore leaned slightly to reach for a mini freezer placed under the autopsy table, the type of freezer you would see inside a car, he picked it up and opened the lid to reveal four vials of blood samples stored within it.
"W-What?!" She gave him a perplexed look. "You see I have this ability that let me peek in a certain stage of a distant future, he was your fated one, but it seems lady luck was mad at mister knight in the shining Armor, a stray bullet hit him right into the chest." He scoffed.
"W-Why didn't you save him?"
"I do not save people. That is not my thing, Selene. In fact, I would have used him as my lab rat, his blood is quite precious you see." Selene shivered when his lips raised in an evil grin.
"Do you feel bad?" Selene shook her head like a small kid. "No, I haven't yet developed feelings for him, he is just a stranger to me." Selene got a hold of her feelings and answered while she tried to convince herself that he is just a random stranger to her and in fact, she wasn't even bothered that much by the news.
"Hmm, I see." Theodore muttered while he inspected the test tubes in his hand. "Not the reaction I expected but ok." He muttered, he was aware by Selene's normal heart rate and her thoughts that the words Selene said were the words that come from the heart.
"Moving on, Michael's blood holds the answer to the birth of vampires and werewolves, Michael's ancestors have a rare genetic anomaly, that when inherited in its active form, this genetic anomaly gives its carrier immortality & superhuman strength, while additionally possessing the capability for another stage of mutation when subjected to gene-fusion." Selene was amazed by this.
"The first carrier of this genetic anomaly was the father of the first vampire aka Marcus and the first werewolves aka dead Marcus's brother."
"So the legend was true." She muttered.
"Although this genetic anomaly can only fuse two foreign genes, I am confident enough that I will be able to make this strain more powerful and open to further consumption of genes and cells of other creatures." He exclaimed.
"Just think about the possibility of having a body that could produce a distinctive protein that could neutralize all known toxins, just like an opossum. Or the ability to convert your body into a liquid, and then switch back to a solid, just like sea cucumbers. Or if you can recuperate lost parts of your body including internal organs just like a salamander." Selene was fascinated by his words; won't that would make anyone basically unkillable.
"Yes, somewhat unkillable." As if he read her mind, which she knew he did, he acknowledged her thoughts on it.
He twisted the caps of the tubes open and manipulated the blood within them with telekinesis and merged them together, human blood is made up of liquid and solids.
The liquid part, called plasma, is made of water, salts, and protein. Over half of your blood is plasma. The solid part of your blood contains red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets.
He concentrated hard, his pupils shrank, and then expanded like a lens of a camera, Theodore can see every little element present in the blood sample and as well as the inactive recessive strain present in it.
For those who have no idea what is a strain, well in layman's terms a strain is a genetic variant or subtype of a micro-organism (e.g., virus or bacterium, or fungus). For example, a "flu strain" is a certain biological form of influenza or "flu" virus.
There are certain ways to sprang a dormant bacterial strain to become active once again, usually, bacteria are capable of extremely rapid growth, but only when the conditions are right. If they lack nutrients, or if it is too cold or dry, they will enter a dormant state to wait it out.
He just has to create a strong nutrient medium or he can just rewrite the sequence of the said strain to his taste.
Although it was virtually impossible for a normal human being to achieve something this absurd, he can do it with ease with his ability to manipulate matter at will.
So, he didn't waste another second and got to work, he modified the strain to handle any number of mutations when subjected to gene fusion, further analysis of the strain made him speechless this anomaly has the potential to be something much more and powerful, he understood that if he manages to evolve it further, he can easily get the traits of other animals just by consuming their DNA.
"Bite me." He ordered catching her off guard. "What?" Selene questioned with hesitation palpable on her face.
He unbuttoned two of his shirt button and exposed his neck to her. "Turn me into one of you." He was calm and collected, he told her without any moment of hesitation or second thoughts.
"Are you sure?" She stuttered, trying hard not to swallow her tongue. "Yes." Selene moved closer to him with slow steps, she dip her lips toward Theodore's bare neck. Selene opened her mouth wide and sank her fangs deeply into his neck.
The second his blood touched her lips a jolt of ecstasy ran down her spine, his blood was the purest and the most exquisite among the human beings, the taste of him almost inflamed her senses. Her entire body resonated with what she fully recognized as desire.
Theodore's hot blood coursed down her throat, she saw a glimpse of his past. The first glimpse she saw of him was his 8-year-old self-declaring to be as great as Bruce Lee, in the second glimpse she saw him in a bare-handed duel against a man, he was surrounded by thousands of people, all of them are going crazy and cheering his name as he decimates his opponent with repeated punches to his face.
In the third and last glimpse, she saw him and a random woman getting intimated, this man is a freaking beast in bed. She thought.
She reached a certain part of the memory that set her heart racing, she saw one of his many one-nighters, the woman grabbed the erect penis of Theodore and swallowed the whole damn thing, Selene was gasping in awe at its size and she felt her heart jump on seeing the hardcore and impressive action.
For the first time in her 600 years of existence on earth, she saw a real-life, honest-to-goodness penis! It was well-muscled and very thick, it was so huge that her heart nearly stopped in her chest from part-fright, part-incredulity, and part-fascination.
Before her imagination kicked in she had reminded herself that the idea was not to peek into his mind but to infect him with the vampiric strain.
Fighting the temptation, she withdrew her fangs and looked down at him. Theodore kept his eyes on her, observing her closely. "You know I can read your surface thoughts." He said calmly as his gaze bore into her.
"Well… I uh, saw nothing. Sorry." She apologized. "I am not talking about that. You know what I am trying to say?" Theodore's gaze roved boldly to her groin and down her thigh.
The skin down her thighs glistened with droplets of water which meant she either recently spilled water on her thigh or she just had an orgasm.
"I can explain... Uh"
At first, she was extremely embarrassed, but before she can come with a proper explanation. He clenched his fist as her venom finally kicks in, the bite on his neck healed by itself but suddenly the veins on his neck bulged under his skin, he extended his hand toward the blood hovering in the air.
The blob of blood moved towards him and encased itself on his hand, it slowly seeped through the pores of his hand becoming one with his bloodstream. His blood fizzed and fermented in his veins and arteries.
Theodore instantly noticed the changes occurring to his body, some changes are quite different from the usual transformation stage of vampirism.
First of all, the density of his bones increased astronomically making it as fortified as steel, second, the fibers of his muscles became more flexible and stronger, Third, the muscles around his larynx or voice box also strengthened, giving him access to a bat's infamous echolocation, and lastly, he felt his abnormally sharp fangs.
"Your eyes… They are red? It should be electric blue, we vampires all have the same pigment." She pointed it out to him.
"My changes are different than the norm, the cells in my body are quite special." He materialized a knife and made a deep cut across his palm.
Instead of blood bursting out of the wound, the deep cut healed almost instantly. "My cells adapt to any abnormalities in my body, the second your venom entered my body they instinctively eliminated the weakness and evolved it to forcefully suit me. I am completely immune to UV rays, and I seem to have acquired the ability to sense any object through echolocation." He paused and exhaled softly.
"I am in a sense can't die, even if my body is burned to ashes or gets disintegrate, I will still return to life." He answered while staring at his healed palm.
He then created a UV torch with matter manipulation and aimed it at her, before she could react, he switched it on, she closed her eyes instinctively knowing fully well that this will hurt like hell, but the pain never came.
"Congratulation you are now immune to UV rays." Theodore's words snapped her out. She looked down at her skin, exposed to the harmful light, and saw no reaction, her skin was not burning even after a prolonged time.
"This… I can now walk under the sun." She muttered with emotion, it's been a very… very long time since she saw a proper sunrise, she had forgotten the feeling of walking under the sun.
"Not only that… but in time you will acquire a knock version of my hyper regeneration, even if your head is removed from its body you won't die." She gasped at this; Theodore continued.
"… And there is a possibility that you could unlock telekinesis and telepathy." Selene was overjoyed by his words but didn't let her happiness show on her face.
"I can't thank you enough for this…" Theodore nodded. "Do you need something... Any help?" She offered.
"Like what?" She kept her silence and even as she did so, her gaze lowered down boldly down his figure, which didn't go unnoticed by Theodore.
"Do you want to fuck me, Mrs. Selene?"
