It didn't take me that long before I arrived at our designated meet-up location. Sis Lin had reserved a table at the far right side of the shop with windows next to it.
She was absent-mindedly staring at her phone, while switching her gaze towards outside of the window.
Approaching her with a wildly beating heart, I calmed my excitement and called out to her in a normal tone,
"Sis Lin? Have you been here for long?"
Her eyes turned towards me as soon as I called out, bringing a wide smile on her beautiful face.
"Not at all! I just arrived myself. Have a seat first, Carene."
There wasn't any shadow under Sis Lin's eyes, as she looked totally refreshed and happy.
Seeing that, I sighed in relief as nothing troublesome had probably plagued her since the last time I saw her.
"Ah, sure. Ahahaha, it feels nice to meet outside like this, right, Sis Lin?"
Sis Lin gave me a coy look as she winked at me as she asked,
"Hmm~? By that... do you mean it being a date?"
Ahh! She said it herself! She acknowledged it to be a real true date!!
Although we don't have too much time due to her job sometime later...
"U-Umm, it's a nice weather today, isn't it?"
Unable to respond to her teasing tone, I could only dodge the question and divert it to some other topic. I miserably failed though.
Sis Lin giggled in response and motioned towards the waitress, before ordering a cup of green tea for herself. Since I just had coffee earlier for breakfast, I chose to have milk tea instead.
"Hey, Carene? You... why haven't you visited my house since that day? It's not good to keep me waiting like that, you know?"
Oh, no. I knew that neglecting Sis Lin was the last thing I ever intended, but that was had happened in reality. As to how I should make it up to her next...
"I-I'm sorry. It somehow turned out to become like that. But I promise that I won't repeat that mistake again from now on."
Sis Lin kept staring at me closely for a while, before she nodded with a smile and spoke,
"Hehe, I will take your word for it then. How have you been recently?"
Recalling the last few days of wonderful memories, I began to recall them to Sis Lin,
"Ah, I went to visit a Zoo recently with friends and... other than that, it's been just regular days at the College... nothing special, I would say."
Unfortunately, amongst the wonderful changes in my life, there were some distasteful ones as well.
"Oh? But, you don't sound too happy regarding the College? Girls your age have so much to talk about it. Are you having some troubles there? You can tell your Sis Lin all about it, alright?"
Ah... how should I explain what those animals do out there..? Sis Lin is too pure for me to go into deeper details. It won't be a good topic to talk about early in the morning anyways.
"Umm... it's just that the batch-mates of mine aren't the best of humans. They only look down upon others, bully them or keep observing other people's pain silently without even voicing any concern. It honestly feels like a huge let down compared to what I had been envisioning regarding my College life."
Sis Lin kept hearing my complaints patiently with eyes full of concern as she sipped her tea from time to time, before she spoke to me again,
"Is that so..? Then, it's better to just focus on your studies purely at your College. Don't get too involved in other people's matters, as you may get yourself distracted. Studying properly in your College days is the key to have a prosperous profession. Working on your discipline, punctuality, perseverance, dedication... all of these matter a lot in the adult world if you want to succeed. Even if not all the knowledge they teach there could be applied directly in your future, it's better to be more knowledgeable than being clueless about things, right?"
Well... Sis Lin has a point. Wrecking my days isn't worth it if it is over those people. I should rather focus my attention and energy on the important ones next me.
"I see... you are right, Sis Lin. I think I must start focusing on my studies seriously from now on. I have been to busy playing around and having fun. It's no good to continue like this..."
Sis Lin giggled at my words and poked at my nose, making me break out of the serious mood and blush in return. She looked at me with a warm gaze and spoke with a voice full of feelings,
"Hey, hey. Keep the fun portion of your day for your Sis Lin! You could have a break and relax at my place, alright? Besides... I-I haven't tried all of my clothes infront of you yet. I even bought a few bold ones recently..."
W-W-What?!!! No, don't tell me that I've been missing out on all that?!
Sis Lin's private fashion show... I am dying to witness it again!!
"*Cough*... ah, yes. W-Why wouldn't I do that? I would visit you for sure, Sis Lin. Ah! That's right. Sis Lin, do you know a good driving school around here? I have been wanting to learn driving for a while now. It would be way more convenient that way, wouldn't it?"
Sis Lin looked a little surprised as she heard me, as she thought for a bit and replied,
"Ah? You wish to learn how to drive? Why don't I teach you instead?! I am usually free in the evenings after my work. You should be free from College then as well, right?"
Wooooah!! Sis Lin's private tutorial session?!! I'm so dying to be a part of it!!!
Wait... didn't I just think about something similar??
"Yes! I would love it if you could teach me, Sis Lin. But, wouldn't it be too much of a bother for you to do that daily?"
Sis Lin shook her head in denial while her smile broadened even further as she replied,
"No, no. There is nothing bothering about it, as long as it's for my Carene~!"
Yes~!! Permission received! Sis Lin, just don't go back on your words, alright?! I would be too heartbroken if you do that...
"R-Right. I would be troubling you from now on then."
Sis Lin's smile looked sweeter than honey as I kept staring at her beautiful face, while faintly hearing her response,
"Sure. Anytime."
...
Our casual talks kept going for a few more minutes before Sis Lin had to leave for work. She even dropped me off at the College on her way to work, which was a very happy time to me.
Unfortunately, I fell from heaven straight to hell. All good times must come to an end, and as such I had to raise my morale to face another troublesome day at the College.
Better get used to it and focus on my studies instead. Being bothered by these things daily would do me no good anyways.
