Haist! This one subordinate is lousy. The story is good but for sure will truly bring us in a roller coaster ride of emotions. Pity the Female Lead but it is simply reality, nobody gets what one wants without feeling the pain.

This book should be in a romantic intrigue/romantic thriller/suspense- romance category - but Webnovel does a lot of novels a disservice by not offering more genres. Think of plots like Xincerely 's 'The Tycoon's Daring Wife', The Blips' 'The Villain's Wife', ' My Mr Gu is Courting Danger Again,' any chaebol K drama, and pretty much any Jodie Foster or Ashley Judd film. Smart women falling in love after years of living alone and living for work, only to find that the ML is an okay guy but everyone around them is nefarious, and their families are filled with secrets that put their lives at risk. I read the 40 chapters available. The scummy cheating fiance and the lotus are pretty 3 dimensional. They're the kind of backstabbing, cheating, user scum that you can find in most workplaces. They lie, even to each other - and themselves. They each want to get ahead via a free ride on someone else's hard work. The FL's boss is scum. The FL's 'family' is criminally abusive scum, also in a very realistic 'if you're unlucky you could meet these users in real life' kind of way. The ML's family situation seems to be a power struggle, and the ML's father will do anything to keep the ML from getting too attached to any woman. How they met, why they would seek each other out, the extravagant and life saving gestures they make for and with each other all seem plausible because the writer has created such bleak, isolated lives for the FL and ML that seeking solace with each other and playing house seems like the kind of spur of the moment fake happiness that you'd be up for if you thought your days were numbered. I don't think this is going to be what you are after if you want loads of sweetness and lots of high drama face-slapping from the lotus stepsister. There's not a stepsister in sight, so far. The MLs father tasks the ML's assistant with keeping the his heir away from a risk such as actually loving a woman, and this assistant follows Daddy's orders to the letter. The FL has a birth secret. Pretty sure the ML has a birth secret too. Updates get 3 stars because it's a trial novel. Let's hope it won't be one of those 2 chapter per week jokes.
i like the synopsis, i like the story ideas, and actually i kinda love first 20 chapter but then the FL character turned out to be inconsistent. sometimes she's fierce sometimes she's extremely weak and immature. When the story reached chapter 39, and ML lost his memories ..... well, this is not my cup of tea. I'm not a fan of amnesiac story that leads to the situation full of anxieties.

The ML is YANDERE 🙃. I got mixed feelings about this novel because of that. I actually really like the novel. The FL is interesting, weird, funny and smart. She's also kinda naive but also strong. It starts out well too and I like how the ML and her interact in the beginning... However, his yandere attitude is starting to put me off. He starts to get controlling and possessive and I'm worried how intense this will get in the future. I'm good with a sprinkle of jealousy but sometimes the possessiveness gets too much with these Webnovel male leads 😕.

This review is based on 35 chapters & will include vague spoilers. (I usually wait until there's 40 chapters but this was the second story from the trial read that I would like to see get picked.) While the title & synopsis may make readers feel as if this is one of those typical stories, there's things in the plot to make it slightly different & interesting. FL receives two important pieces of information about her life - one (I believe is a misunderstanding but) allows her to be a bit more bold in her choices & the other changes her status for the better, though it does raise more questions about what exactly happened to her when she was a child. As for ML, we know he is rich man but it's not clear why he's hiding his identity from ML & I'm curious to see them reunite/for her to discover that truth. I think it's a story worth giving a try.

This is one of the awesome novels released this week. I think I just appreciated 2 so far. The ML here is really good and treats the FL well. For sure, a lot of girls will remain single coz their standards will go up a notch higher after reading this. Then we'll all be single.. Harharhar... Anyway, things escalate really fast in the first chapters (ahem).. But the novels pace is alright. If anyone ever finds the raw. , can you pls comment? Hehe. .thanks!!
