Chapitre 48: Special Chapter 20 Wise Go Part 1
I'm just looking at Rackie while they infuse the blood in her. I turn to look at Wisdom who's kneeling and holding Rackie's hand. If everyone thinks that he's in one-sided love from the way he acts towards Rackie but not me, I just tease him… I know better known than anyone that my brother just really cares for Rackie and if anyone will ask me why? That is because Rackie became my brother's rock when our parents passed away. Wisdom lost his world and he almost lost his sanity from the death of our parents yet since she's there, he was able to survive.
*I can't help but panic when I found out about my parents. I was in the university at that moment and my class just started when Rackie came in and went straight towards my things.
"Wait, I still have my class," I said.
"I already ask permission for you to be pullout today and the professor that will be your proxy is on his way now." She said to pull me out of the room.
My body starts to shiver for an unknown reason. "Where are we going?" I ask when we finally reach my car.
"Keys." She said then put her hand inside my pocket. After she got the keys in my pocket, we went inside the car and she start to drive. "Sual, Pangasinan."
Panic spread out on my system, wherein I want to go out but the door is locked. "Rackie…" I plead.
"You have the same reaction with Wisdom. You both run in reality. The three of you are the only family that your parents have, why are you running?" she said, her tone is tired. "Wisdom and Wit are already there, you are the one that they wait for."
"How about mom?"I ask almost whispering.
She shook her head. "No news yet..."
I got bored during our trip but I secretly cry and hoped that what I feel right now isn't true and there was hope that our parents are alive after the plane crash.
"We're here." She said who opened the door for me.
I just act accordingly even though I know I move like a robot and then get out of the car. I saw Wisdom who was staring blankly at the calm blue sea.
"I can't…" I said that I almost whisper but Rackie heard me.
"Listen to me, Wise. Don't show Wit that weakness of your even just for today, please?" she said then suddenly pull me far from my brothers. When we finally got far, she suddenly hugs me. "Now, cry as hard as you can. Take this time to cry all out then later be strong for Wit who needs the both of you the most. Now, cry and if you can't hold it later, go ahead and lean your head on my shoulder."
After I heard what she said, as if it was the sign that I'm waiting for, I hug her tight and just cry, she doesn't talk, she didn't say anything, she just taps my back and sometimes she caress my hair. After I cried, she wipe the tears on my face also the sweat on my forehead then gave me bottled water that I don't know where did she get it.
"You okay?" she said and all I can do is to nod as a response. "Come on." She said, she gave me her handkerchief then hold my hand and pull with a little force for me to walk.
All the people who were rescued whether alive or not, she patiently look each of them until she suddenly stopped. She talked to the customs there, and a few soldiers who were there for the rescue operation. She look at us for a while then went back to look at the dead body on the stretcher which is inside a big black bag. Wisdom suddenly stood up, Rackie slightly panics but she signaled us to come over. When we finally came, Wisdom slowly unzipped one of the big bags where a dead body is inside near us then he suddenly closes his eyes while I was quiet, praying that that inside isn't our parents who are right in front of us. Wisdom walked towards the other bag to open and when Wit saw it was our parents who are inside the dead bag, he wasn't able to hold his reaction. Rackie wasn't able to stop Wit, he hugged our dead parents, Wisdom is just staring blankly while I wasn't able to move where I stand. Until I just noticed that Wisdom and I were hugging Rackie, Wisdom leans his forehead on her shoulder while I put my head on her other shoulder pushing my head on her neck. Wit can't stop crying while Rackie gently taps his back. She wasn't able to convince Wit to let go of our dead parents so we decided to pull him out so she can process the things that need to. Rackie hugs Wit to cover his face from crying so hard, she also pulls us in her arms that we suddenly lost our balance. Wisdom and I quietly cry while we hug her. Rackie was just standing, looking far away, her eyelashes were wet from tears and her eyes is reddish from crying.
From the four days of our mourning, Wit is always with Rackie, while Wisdom is the one who talks to the people who are coming. Wit always get to fall asleep from crying and those are the time that Rackie was able to be with me while I always sit in front and just stare at the coffin ahead of me. I was startled when someone blocked my line of sight then squatted in front of me and held my hands which is I entwined then hug me. "You know that you can always ask me to hug you and hide you from this crowd for you to cry. You can always lean on my shoulder. You are always welcome in my arms. Always remember, you aren't alone in this battle. I know you are strong, Wise yet I also know you have weaknesses. You can always hug me whenever you feel weak, whenever you feel you're running out of strength. You can always have my arms wrapped around you like this whenever you feel lost. I am willing to hug you always, always Wise, always." She whispers. I just nod.
It was the last day of our mourning; I went out because I feel I can't breathe inside. I was stunned when I receive a knock on the head from Rackie which she gasp for air. "When you're going out, let us know!" she said annoyingly. "I'm worried about you, you might do something we won't expect!"
I chuckled because of her expression so I receive a blow on my stomach. "Ouch! Abstract!" I warned.
"That's for making fun of me!" she said.
"It's just I can't breathe inside," I explained then suddenly look at the racing car next to me.
"Want to ride?" she asks. I nod as an answer. She looks around. "Can we have the keys for this car? We won't go out," she said to one of the workers of dad. After she received the keys, she immediately went into the driver's seat.
"You're going to drive wearing that?" I ask because she was wearing a dress.
"What's wrong with what I wear? I'm going to drive a car not a motor." She replied. "Come on, ride now! Before Wisdom will notice us."
I wasn't able to lock my seatbelt properly when she drive crazy. We were about to go down a curve road when she turn to look at me. "God! Rackie, focus on the road!" I hold on to the car and I don't know where and what to hold on to.
"It's okay, I've memorized this road. If you feel like crying, go! Cry out loud, cry all to your heart's content."
We're getting faster and faster and only the sound of the engine can be heard between us, she just let me stay quiet until she drift effortlessly and then park in front of the house. I went out first, I then felt a tap on my back which I'm startled to look at who is it and I saw Rackie smiling at me and then ruffling my hair. Before I felt my knees want to kneel, I pulled her to hug her tight from her back and cried. That tap on the back and that smile earlier as if it was dad, I remember dad from that tap and smile Rackie did, it seems like it was dad whom I rode with and not Rackie.
The next day, we finally send them away. Rackie was holding my hand and Wit's while she kept on glancing towards Wisdom who was next to Wit. After we send them, we stayed looking at the place where we sent our parents. We were startled when Rackie stood up.
"Mom, Dad… they will be able to survive this page on their lives because you taught them right and plant respect on each of them. I know, you won't be worried because they are grown up and they know what is right from wrong but I promise that I'll stay with them to remind them what you have taught them whenever they forget." She whispered but we heard her.
