Chapitre 24: Catching Fire Part 2 (Sam)

"Sam?" called a sweet female voice, rousing me from sleep. I groan drowsily, turning over onto my sides and using my arm as a pillow. I was so fricking tired; I didn't even care that I apparently slept on the floor.

The girl, whoever she was, let out a soft sensual giggle, breaking the silence that had fallen between us. "Sam," she pleaded again, her voice louder this time, seeming to come from everywhere and nowhere all at once.

Sam….Who was Sam? Me, maybe? I didn't know, couldn't think beyond the deep exhaustion threatening to pull me under once more.

"Sam, wake up, Silly!" She laughs, her fingers ghosting over my arm, my chest like a lover's caress. Then just as quickly as she appeared, she was gone.

Wait, I know that voice. It was HER voice. Name… what was her goddam name? I couldn't remember. But I knew deep in my heart that she was important to me, that I needed to go to her.
