Even after the "evil" vampire king left, Dahlia stood on the spot stunned. She didn't move a muscle, her brain trying to digest what just displayed before her eyes.

It wasn't after her eyes landed on the pile of clothes with the ashes before her that she understood that she almost died. If that evil vampire king hadn't come to her rescue, she would be the one on the floor with a broken neck - except that she would not turn into ashes. She would be as cold as a corpse.
