She giggled, but her eyes were still closed. "Why?"

Jacob laughed at the expression on her face, large round eyes staring at him. He pinched the bridge of her nose. She held his hand to stop him.

"Alright, rich then, which is why you married me... Isn't that right?"

"No," she said, shaking her head, still with big eyes glaring at him. "I don't need your money, Jake. I don't need to get married. I can bring this baby alone."

"So why did you… you like me?"

She laughed. "No, I was thinking of grandma. I don't want to upset her or make her unhappy…."

"I thought you adored me...?"

She pinched him.

He laughed.
