Ace's eyebrows rose. He clearly hadn't been expecting Cora to be so forthright. Which was fair, considering how she usually acted around him. She was little better than a brick wall when it came to telling him anything remotely personal.

"Wednesday nights, huh? I'll have to remember that. Thanks for telling me," he said with a very small smile.

"…you shouldn't be thanking me for that. You'll probably come to regret it."

"You did something outside your comfort zone. That's worth thanking you for."

It was hopeless arguing with him. "You're way too nice."

Ace shrugged. "Only to like three people."

"Well, I'm lucky to be one of the three. Thanks, Ace. Really. If you ever need anything, let me know. I'd like to return the favor if I can."

He might not believe in owing when it came to friendship but she did wish she could do something. Anything. She didn't like feeling like nothing but a burden. But what would a guy like him even need?
