Niko scrutinised her for a long minute, waiting for her to explain further, but Esme looked down, avoiding his gaze. With a sigh, he opened the door behind him. "Your pay will be docked for the two hours you've missed. Just go to the bar for now. Gabriel is in a meeting now; I hope you come up with a better excuse in front of his majesty."

Esme parted her lips to respond after seeing Niko's annoyed expression, but he turned his back on her and walked away and in the direction of the VIP rooms. 

"I didn't have time to get in contact with Gabriel. Can you please let him know I am here?" She asked anyway, and Niko stopped, keeping his back to her and nodded his head before continuing on his way.
