Chapitre 138: Meeting

South of the Bridge, Rose Street, Harvest Church.

Ebner mentioned to Cullen and Judy that a Beyonder had asked to meet him. He didn't reveal Maric's exact Sequence and only said that it might be Sequence 6.

"So you want me or Judy to go with you? So we can look out for each other?" Cullen was hundreds of years old and naturally experienced. He saw through Ebner's thoughts in an instant.

Judy twirled her long brown hair with her fingers, looking curious. She had never been to a bar in Backlund, so she naturally had the idea of seeing it.

"Maybe there's some unexpected information…" Anyway, you guys have nothing to do now and can only act in the middle of the night.

Ebner wasn't embarrassed about being exposed. He hadn't thought he could hide it from Callum.

"Are there any drinks with unique flavors in Backlund's bar? If there are, I'll come with you!" Judy said with a smile. Although it was just an excuse, it was her true thoughts.

She and Ebner had become familiar with each other, and she didn't think that such a level of help would do any good. Besides, she was still feeling a little guilty about what had happened with Roman, so she was more than happy to help out with Ebner's request.

Ebner expressed his gratitude to her and introduced some local products such as Southville beer and dessert beer.

Seeing how eager she was to listen, this future "Druid" should be an old drunkard.

Just as Judy was fantasizing about the different flavors of the alcohol, Viscount Cullen pinched his chin and thought for a moment before saying, "Based on my observations of you, if the other party is only a Sequence 6, he might not be able to make you so cautious…" At this point, he looked at Ebner with a faint smile before continuing, "Therefore, this matter has to be considered according to how many Mid-Sequence Beyonders he has, or if he has a powerful Sequence 5… Of course, as there might not be any conflict, it's not very dangerous…"

As expected of a wise old man… Ebner silently cursed. He knew that the other party was deliberately exaggerating the difficulty before setting the price. Hence, he exhaled and said, "Viscount Cullen, I really want to ask for your help… Just say it directly. What do I have to do to agree?"

' It better be a friendship price, or I won't need you to come along… With Judy around, there should be quite a bit of security.'

"Don't worry, we are friends… It's just that after we return safely from the bar, in exchange, I hope you can do me a small favor." The black-haired, red-eyed viscount with a lack of masculine aura smiled and said his request.

"What can I do for you?" Ebner asked warily.

"Don't worry, it's not a complicated problem, nor is there any danger… It's just that it's not convenient for me to tell you now. I'll tell you after I accompany you to the Bravehearts Bar." Viscount Cullen glanced at the brown-haired girl beside him and changed the topic. "When night comes, you and Judy will be in the open, and you can go directly to the appointment. And I'll be in the dark. This way, even if something unexpected really happens, I'll have a backup plan."

Ebner saw that he really didn't want to talk about the "help" topic right now, so he let it go. In any case, if there really was danger, he wouldn't take it. He would just compensate Viscount Cullen in other ways.

After the three of them finished discussing, Ebner carried the cello case and boarded the public carriage with Judy, who had changed into a male outfit, to Iron Gate Street in the bridge area.

Walking into the Bravehearts Bar, Ebner skillfully bought a glass of beer and handed it to Judy, who was eager to try. Then, under the guidance of the bartender, he went to Card Room 2 and found Kaspars.

Kaspars was playing "Fighting Evil" while betting on a particular boxer outside. He was having a rather pleasant time.

Upon seeing Ebner appear at the door, Kaspars covered the cards and cursed at the others who were unhappy. He then stood up and walked to the door.

He carefully sized up Ebner, whose temperament had changed again, and then looked at Judy beside him. He smiled and said, "Another one… A handsome young man is really capable."

Ebner was speechless. He couldn't say anything bad about this old "gangster" who had helped him before, so he changed the topic. "I heard you were looking for me?"

Kaspars led Ebner to a hidden door outside the kitchen and said in a low voice, "A powerful fellow is looking for you. He seems to want to entrust you with a request… Do you still remember the matter of me finding a new backer?"

Judy, on the other hand, was consciously a few steps behind. As she drank South Wales in her hand, she looked around curiously like a little girl who had come to such an occasion for the first time and vaguely discovered something.

"I heard you mention that the person seems to be called Maric?" Ebner pretended to recall before saying.

"Yes, it's Maric! He's the most terrifying person I know. He's not even afraid of bullets! You have to know that there are many Beyonders who have cooperated with me, but he's the only one who can do this." Kaspars seemed to be sighing, but in fact, he had used this method to reveal Maric's background to Ebner, although Ebner was already aware of Maric's origins.

"I understand." Ebner nodded, accepting the favor.

"I'm just sending a message… Now you know how dangerous this person is. Although he doesn't have any evil deeds, if you don't wish to see him, I can help you pass it on." Kaspars frowned slightly and said in a slightly hinting tone.

Ebner deliberately adjusted his position and took the opportunity to sneak a glance at Judy. Seeing her nod slightly, he smiled at Kaspars and said, "It's okay. Since I'm here, it's better to meet this Mr. Maric… And I haven't thanked him after what happened with Jane."

Kaspars looked at him deeply before clenching his right fist and striking his left chest.

"May the storm be with you."

Then I'm doomed… Who doesn't know that the Church of Storms cleaned up the battlefield afterward…

After cursing silently, Ebner asked, "I want to go see Maric with Judy… the girl who was drinking beer in the back. Is that okay?"

Kaspars looked at Judy in surprise. Seeing that she had raised her cup and returned a sweet smile, he retracted his gaze and deliberated. "I have to ask. Wait here."

He didn't ask Ebner why he wanted to bring Judy with him. A nosy person wouldn't live long in this line of work. Even if Ebner was the son of his friend, he was already a Beyonder who had grown up and was no longer the same as before.

Seeing Kaspars exit through the hidden door at the back of the kitchen, Ebner pretended to look over his shoulder and asked Judy, who had taken a long swig of beer, "How's it going?"

"This beer tastes good. It's refreshing. It's just that the malt used to make wine isn't an expensive breed," Judy said seriously.

Ebner supported his forehead with his hand and said helplessly, "I'm asking if there are any problems with this place…"

Judy put down her glass, then pointed vaguely with her finger at several people who had stopped at different places in the bar. "The man has arranged for puppets to keep an eye on this bar… and I don't think those puppets are alive."

Zombies, I know.

Just as Ebner thought this, he heard Judy continue, "And I just seemed to feel prying from the spirit world. I don't know if it was an illusion or if there really was something—"

Could it be that Miss Sharron was here as well? A thought struck Ebner, and he actively reduced the conversation.

About ten minutes later, Kaspars returned to the kitchen.

"You guys can go together. He agreed," Kaspars said in a deep voice.

Those two from the temperance faction should know Judy's strength… Ebner smiled and nodded.

Next, he and Judy followed behind Kaspars, who was walking with difficulty, through the hidden door of the back kitchen and into a dark alley behind the bar.

There were high walls on both sides of the alley, and behind the walls were individual manors.

After walking along the alley for about three to four minutes, Kaspars suddenly stopped and lightly knocked on a door that was disguised as a wall by the side of the road. After obtaining permission, he then led Ebner and Judy in.

It was a small house that was sandwiched in the middle of a row of houses. If one didn't look carefully, they wouldn't notice it at all.

Seeing the trio enter, the man in the white shirt and black vest slowly stood up. It was Maric.

And sitting in front of him was a woman wearing a black gothic regal dress and a small bonnet of the same color. Her face was pale, but her pale blonde hair and exquisite appearance complemented each other's strengths.

"Detective Bryan, I have something to entrust you with."
