I heard the knock on the door, but I had already heard them all coming down the hall. They had made no attempt to hide the fact that they were coming to my office. Then again, there had been no reason for them to hide it from anyone. They were from my nation. And Addie was my assistant, wasn't she? That meant that she was supposed to be here with me.

Yeah, OK, I might not want everyone to know that she was here. It would give the culprit, whoever he or she was, an advantage. If they knew a schedule or routine that Addie kept, they would be able to set traps for her like they did last term.
