Chapitre 129: Determination

I didn't leave my room at all that night. I didn't have dinner. I didn't call for help. I just stayed in my room and thought about the new Addie that I wanted to be. There was no reason to involve someone else in what I was thinking and what was going on with me.

No one even bothered to come and call me for dinner either. I think that was due to the fact that Violet was waiting for me to call her. She did as I asked though, and left me alone. That was very nice of her, even if it wasn't proper and violated all of the rules. I still appreciated what she had done for me.

Besides, I was capable of getting myself ready for bed. I used to do it all of the time until I got to Uncle Isaiah's house. That was the first time since I was a very little girl that I had someone else help me get dressed. And back then it had been my mother.
