Just a few short moments after I made my promise to Uncle Dominic, the two of us exited the house and entered the gardens. I saw that Finnick was already waiting for us. And the moment that my eyes settled on him, sitting there in the same seat that Uncle Dominic had sat on that first day that we were out here in the garden, my heart started to race.
I was nervous. I was scared. I was excited. I was a hot mess that didn't know what to do or say when we got over to him. I knew that he was going to say something about the almost kiss in the library. And frankly, that moment, that memory of it, scared me.
I didn't try to slow us down at all. Instead, I just followed behind Uncle Dominic as he led me to my doom. And when we were almost to him, Finnick rose from the table and bowed deeply.
"Sir Dominic, Miss Addie, thank you for inviting me to join you today. I am elated to be teaching what I know to the young Miss Addie."
