**ERICKSON'S POV**
My daughter has been gone for months now. No matter how much I tried to find her, she seemed to be lost to me. She was lost to all of us. And it was all my fault.
I hadn't realized what Briar had meant when he said that the price that I might be required to pay would be too much for me. I had not understood that my daughter, the one that I was trying to save and keep with us, would be what the wolf required as the payment.
And when Mr. Boberre had insisted on coming home to see my daughter and to make sure that we administer the medicine properly, I hadn't realized that something was off. I was just so overjoyed and ready to accept the man's help.
