The sleeping lady didn't seem to have their King's mating mark, and although not that keen as a bird beastman, the witch master could smell that she had no intimate contact with Kyrell recently. Unlike Lady Alice, Queen Lyra lacked any evidence of becoming the Eagle Queen. That was why he grew even more confused. Why was their king looking so tenderly at a female other than his mate?
