"Hm, what do you think, Zavier? Are you ready to marry my daughter this Saturday?" Giovani asked.
"Yes," replied Zavier briefly. This time he was holding back his anger so that it will not explode all at once.
"Good, then what about you, Airyn?" Giovani asked his eldest daughter.
"God willing, I'm ready," Airyn replied softly. She was helpless, as she only hoped that this marriage would make her father happy.
"Ah, okay, then we have an agreement here," Rainer told them.
"Yes, we agree to hold a wedding on this Saturday," Giovani finally replied.
"Well, if there is nothing to talk anymore, we shall go now," Rainer said.
"Ah, yes, we'll walk you out." Giovani replied and stood up, followed by the others.
After escorting the Zavier family out of the terrace, Airyn asked permission to retreat to her room. In her room, she immediately changed her dress to a nightgown. She also prepared the subjects for school tomorrow morning. Once it was done, she was tired and finally decided to sleep.
'Airyn POV.
Today I went to school as usual. I had a hard time sleeping as I keep thinking about my wedding that will be taking place on this Saturday. I've accepted my fate. I have no idea what kind of man who now officially becomes my fiancé. From what I saw yesterday, his face looked really terrifying. He also looked at me with very sharp eyes last night. I was confused at that time, did his gaze mean that he didn't want to marry me? However, because of my lack of courage, I couldn't help but lower my head when he looked at me. Besides, he didn't talk much last night. I thought, he is an emotionless man.
Author POV.
As Airyn was still lost in her contemplation, she accidentally bumped into someone who came across her. She gasped and immediately came back to her senses and looked at the person.
"Ah, s—sorry," Airyn said and looking down again once she saw the person.
"Be careful," replied the person and then passed through her on the way to the school gate.
Airyn just frowned at the person. She felt… that she had ever heard that voice before.
"Hey, Nerd! Do you want to be the spotlight, standing in the middle of the court just like that?" Luna said that pushed her back to reality. Airyn lowered her head in embarrassment while all her friends were laughing at her. She immediately walked quickly to her class.
While she arrived at the class, once again her table was full of insulting writings. In fact, she has been treated this way since the first day of school when she was in tenth grade. Well, she's already invulnerable to all the treatment she accepted from her friends. And as usual, after cleaning her desk, her friends came closer and sat down at their own places. The teacher soon entered the class and they started the first lesson of the day.
Once the recess bell rang, Airyn went straight to the library to read a book. This time she didn't prepare her lunch this morning as Carrine suddenly wanted to have one, by then they were already late for school. Finally, Carrine took the lunch Airyn was supposed to bring and as a result, she didn't have lunch at this time.
"Good afternoon, Airyn," said the librarian.
"Good afternoon, Ma'am," Airyn responded with her pleasant smile.
"Enjoy your reading," the woman replied, chuckling.
"Thank you, Ma'am. I'll be over there," Airyn said, nodding respectfully before leaving for her favourite corner. But when she looked up, she saw someone who was already there with earphones plugged on both ears. She decided to ignore him and took the book she wanted to read. After that, only then did she approach her usual spot.
"Excuse me, may I sit here?" Airyn asked timidly. When the person looked up, she was briefly startled. It was Zavi.
"Yes." Zavi replied briefly and she sat next to him.
Once Airyn had just opened her book, it seemed that the man reached into his bag and pull out something. She glanced slightly and saw that he took out a bread. When the person turned to her, she quickly looked back at the book she was reading. She just wished the person didn't notice that she had been glancing at him since earlier.
"Er?!" Airyn was surprised when he handed her another bread.
"Is this for me?" She asked him hesitantly.
"Yep," he replied briefly.
"T-thank you... Zavi," she said to him. She quickly put aside the book she just read next to her. She then opened the package of the bread in her hand and ate it with her sparkling eyes. Before she realized it, Zavi watched her closely.
As they finished their bread, the bell rang. Airyn sighed in discontent and closed the book she had just read a few moments later. Meanwhile, Zavi hurriedly got up from his seat while carrying his backpack and left the library. Airyn did the same; she put the book back to its shelf and hurried back to her class.
Once the bell rang, Airyn hastily left her classroom after receiving a message from her father that someone was going to pick her up. She had thought that her mother was going to pick her up as always. However, when her father told her to wait around at a convenience store that was quite far from school, she was reluctant. She went straight to the gas station near her school to remove all her make-up and took off her braided hairs. After putting on a peach jacket, she finally heading out to the convenience store. At the convenience store, she found a black lamborgini parked nearby. She checked the message from her father informing that the person who was going to pick her up was driving a black lamborgini. She quickly approached the car and knocked the window.
"Excuse me," Airyn said while tapping the windshield. Soon, the window was opened, it showed the figure of a handsome man with a blank face.
"Come in," said the man briefly, concisely, and clearly.
"Ah, yes," Airyn replied, lowering her head. She opened the door of the luxury car and got into it. Once she came in, the man immediately started the car.
"Er? Excuse me, but it's not the way to my place," Airyn said when she realized that the road seemed unfamiliar to her.
"You'll find out later," he replied indifferently while his gaze focused on the road ahead.
"F-fine," she said, lowering her head again. Well, she was getting used to do it when she was nervous.
Soon after a long journey, the lamborgini stopped in front of a luxury bridal boutique where they offered lots of wedding dresses.
"Are we going to have clothes fitting?" Airyn asked perplexedly.
"Yes," the man replied and then got out of his car, while Airyn was following him behind afterwards.
"Welcome, Young Master Zavier and Young Lady Airyn," said the female shopkeeper who bowed before them.
"Ah, thank you," Airyn responded with muddled expression that clearly caught the man's attention. Well, the man who actually accompanied her was Zavier.
"Choose anything you like," Zavier said blankly to her. Airyn saw three pairs of white wedding outfits with different models.
