"I am your father, Hazel!"  the words rung in her ears like the voice of a siren that controls all the senses.

She blinked and blinked but not spoke a word as if her brain was not able to decode the words or the voice was not reaching to her mind.

"I know that you think your father had cheated your mother and hurted you. He is the reason for all your demise but trust me darling. That is not reality. 

I never wanted to hurt her and I never knew that she was pregnant with my child. We had a small argument and then she left.

Even Alex stood straighter. He was not expecting her to beat him with so much force that its sound resonated in the air for long.

"You are the one who had an affair with my mother?" she repeated the words with poison in her voice that hurted him more than the slap she had given him.
