Chapitre 12: A Wise and Smart Girl
Ruby's expression was truly wonderful. It changed at the speed of light, from pale, distorted, ugly, furious, until it finally ended with an aggrieved look.
She compressed all the emotion that was on the verge of blowing up. Took a quick breath sharply and then released it harshly.
By forcefully pressing the bubbling negative thoughts, Ruby's inner demon was temporarily suppressed.
Not long after, Ruby eased her expression and the ripples in her eyes became much calmer.
It was a good thing she had done this practice from childhood, the result of it being she wouldn't easily go mad.
Little Ruby back then was a wise and smart girl.
Ruby shamelessly praised herself before gathering her focus on Nine who was looking at her like a lunatic.
Ruby: "...." A brat like you wouldn't understand.
"Alright. Let me think for a while."
Feeling suffocated being in the same space and breathing the same air as the female lead's children, Ruby decisively stepped out of the ward.
She took large strides towards the canteen, buying a bowl of noodles and slurping it in a depressed mood.
She began sorting out all the information she had regarding the plot.
When the original owner returned home, there was a period where Crystal suddenly went missing.
The female lead couldn't take the blow that the true child had come back and her position was shaken. Therefore, Crystal in a strike of panic ran away without telling anybody.
The Heather family was shocked. They sent people to track her down but were intercepted by the second male lead.
Bird brain second male lead cut off the connection between the Heather family and Crystal on the account of his 'precious' friend, Crystal, request.
Thus, the Heather family didn't know that their good daughter hooked up with the male lead by mistake and got pregnant.
Although the second male lead was badly hurt from Crystal's moment of carelessness. He still helped her cover it all.
Don't even mention covering Crystal, the second male lead even went as far as to accompany Crystal on her pregnancy. Bowing down on her skirts and did whatever she wanted to please her.
Ruby's mouth was itchy to insult him, this mentally retarded devotee.
Crystal gave birth to a pair of dragons. However, she wasn't happy and instead felt repulsed seeing her own sons.
She couldn't take the job as their mother, because if she did, the path to mingle in the entertainment industry would be destroyed. Her position in the Heather family which was already low would also take turn to worsen.
She couldn't let that happen.
Crystal heartlessly abandoned the babies at an old, broken orphanage, filled with abuse. She didn't care about the life or death of her sons.
They made a story about her absence in that one year, cleverly saying Crystal was under intensive training to debut while also trying to calm down her fear of being replaced as she was only an adopted daughter.
The Heather family readily accepted her excuse as their heart ached for Crystal.
Ruby burped.
Instant noodles would be even tastier than this greasy bowl of noodles. She shook her head, disappointed.
Anyway, Nine and Ten were fated to meet their father tonight. The male lead who was on a business trip accidentally saw them begging in front of a small clinic on his way back.
Not knowing why he was agitated by the scene, his mind would keep on replaying the same scene perfectly. Even if he tried to forget it, the image of two little boys was deeply attached to his memories, making him grow irritated.
The male lead failed to control himself, actually brought them both to the hospital.
That was the first turning point of the plot.
Ruby wondered, does that mean she met the twins first before the male lead could?
But it won't explain her impulsive action.
Then, maybe she was being mistaken by the plot, taking over the male lead's role to save them?
What was it called?
Right, a butterfly effect.
