Chapitre 93: Chapter 93 - Effort

Alright, so as far as I know, we don't know shit about Yoruichi and Urahara's childhood. I didn't delve too deep into bleach so I checked some forums and the wiki and nothing popped up. Basically, I bullshited 99% of this chapter, so if there are some cannon aspects to her childhood tell me and I'll try to fix the chapter.

==================================================================

In the heart of a dense forest, illuminated by the warm rays of sunlight breaking through the greenery, Yoruichi had found herself a secluded spot for training. The forest floor, covered in a thick layer of moss and leaves, cushioned her every step, muffling the sound of her movements.

Yoruichi's swift and agile form moved gracefully between the trees. She recalled the countless hours she had spent training with Raidenkyo, and how she bonded with it. The memories, bittersweet as they were, brought a mixture of joy and regret to her heart.

As she moved, Yoruichi practiced her katas with Raidenkyo, the familiar movements with the weapon giving her a sense of comfort and nostalgia. The sound of metal slicing through the air accompanied her dance, while Yoruichi herself was lost in thought. Despite her absence, her body remembered the intricate steps and techniques, a testament to the bond that had once been so strong.

Yet, something was missing. The once vibrant connection with Raidenkyo had been severed, and the Zanpakuto spirit remained silent. Yoruichi could feel a void. While practicing Hakuda she didn't have a partner like Raidenkyo, but while practicing swordsmanship the silence was louder than any scream.

As the sun began to set, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink, Yoruichi's body was slick with sweat, her muscles aching from exertion. The shadows of the trees grew long, and the forest began to darken as night approached.

Yoruichi paused, leaning against a tree trunk, her breathing heavy. She felt the weight of her mistakes settling heavily upon her shoulders. She didn't expect the task to be easy, she knew it wouldn't, but she didn't expect it to be this tough. Not physically, but mentally. The consequences of her actions became clear as she practiced silently in the empty forest.

The sun began to peek through the dense foliage of the forest, casting a warm golden glow on the dew-covered leaves as Ryu and Yoruichi arrived at their training ground.

"You seem... Different. I take it you finally tried to earnestly train with Raidenkyo?" Ryu commented as he looked at Yoruichi. "Yeah, but it didn't work," Yoruichi sighed in disappointment. "Still, you seem determined. That's a good sign, I'm sure Raidenkyo will forgive you with time," Ryu said.

Yoruichi nodded, though she was not entirely convinced. She knew that regaining the trust of Raidenkyo would require more than just determination. It would take genuine remorse, growth, and a sincere desire to restore the broken bond. And even if she had those things, it would mean nothing if Raidenkyo didn't acknowledge her.

Ryu smiled, clapping Yoruichi on the back. "That's the spirit. Now, let's get started with today's training. After all, the best way to bond with your Zanpakuto is to use it."

For the next several hours, Ryu taught Yoruichi the unique sword style he began to develop for her. The sound of their training echoed through the forest, accompanied by the occasional laughter as they enjoyed their time together.

Despite the lingering sense of failure, Yoruichi couldn't help but feel grateful for Ryu's presence and support. When she was focused he was a strict but effective teacher, and when she was frustrated with her failures he cheered her up with compliments and the occasional playful tease.

As their training session drew to a close, Ryu suggested that they take a break and rest by a nearby stream. They sat on the bank, dipping their feet in the cool water.

"You know, even though you can't feel Raidenkyo's presence right now, it's still with you. It's a part of you. Quite literally, seeing as it is a fraction of your soul," Ryu reassured Yoruichi

Yoruichi looked at the sword she held in her lap, pondering Ryu's words silently.

"Now that I think about it, you never told me about yourself," Ryu tried to lighten the conversation.

"...I guess I didn't, huh? Well, now's a prime opportunity to fix that," Yoruichi spoke with a surprised tone. "You're gonna have one hell of a time laughing at my expense though," Yoruichi sighed in embarrassment. "Nonsense, but now I'm even more curious," Ryu stated.

"Alright. So, I was born as a princess of the Shihoin Clan, one of the four noble families. My childhood was spent in the Seireitei." Yoruichi started to recall her past with a nostalgic look.

"One day, when we were just kids, I found Urahara and Tessai wandering in the woods. I was a bold kid, so I just declared that they were now my friends and had them follow me. Honestly, I'm baffled that they decided to go with the flow on that one," Yoruichi chuckled. "We spent our days getting into all sorts of trouble. I would come up with these crazy ideas, Urahara would figure out how to make them happen, and Tessai was always our lookout."

Yoruichi smiled, remembering their break-in at the Maggot's Nest. "We broke in because we wanted to know if the people inside were really all that bad. We almost got caught, but Urahara tried to talk our way out of it while I snuck up behind the Shinigami that found us and kicked them in the shins. We ran as fast as our little legs could carry us."

Yoruichi laughed, her voice warm with fondness, as she recounted their secret fort-building escapades, using anything they could find, from blankets to tree branches, just as long as their forts remained secret.

"Back then, I was already receiving martial arts training," Yoruichi said. "Urahara didn't qualify for lessons, so I decided to teach him myself. He was a fast learner, and I was really annoyed about it at the time. Though now that I think about it, I got really motivated because of it," Yoruichi narrated

"Urahara was always an inventor at heart," she added. "We'd break into the vault where the clan's inventions were kept, and he'd tinker with them, sometimes even improving their designs. When the adults found out they freaked out about it," Yoruichi giggled.

Yoruichi sighed, looking at the rippling water of the stream. "We were so young and carefree then. Sometimes, I wish we could go back to those days."

"You were quite the troublemaker, huh? Though it's good that you stayed as enthusiastic. I'm guessing Urahara lost his touch in that aspect?" Ryu let out a laugh. "Eh, he still has it in him. you'd be surprised by the shenanigans I saw him do in the mortal realm," Yoruichi snickered.

"But... I guess it's true that he changed. He mainly looks at things from a purely logical perspective, and he isn't afraid to tell you you're wrong to your face. It's really useful in some areas, but it's just hurtful in others. Especially since I have a different worldview from him. While he always recommends the objectively correct option, I don't do that. We got into a lot of fights over some disagreements over the years," Yoruichi sighed.

"I can understand that, though it's our differences that make us unique," Ryu said. "That's fair. Man, it's been a while since I talked like this, it feels good," Yoruichi laughed.

They sat by the stream for a while longer, exchanging stories and laughter. As the sun began to dip below the horizon, they knew it was time to wrap up their training for the day. Packing their belongings, Ryu and Yoruichi headed back towards their campsite.
